Barbara Walters Falls, Is Hospitalized Over The Weekend

Barbara Walters was hospitalized over the weekend after she fell down the stairs at the British Ambassador’s home Saturday. The 83-year-old journalist suffered a cut on her forehead as a result but is said to be recovering well.

At the time of her fall, Walters was attending a Presidential inauguration party and was reportedly in Washington, D.C., to cover President Obama’s second inauguration, which will take place Monday, January 21, 2013. Due to her injury, it’s been reported that Walter will not be able to cover the event.

Jeffrey W. Schneider, senior vice president of ABC News, said in a statement: “Out of an abundance of caution, she [Walters] went to the hospital to have her cut tended to, have a full examination and remains there for observation. Barbara is alert (and telling everyone what to do), which we all take as a very positive sign.”

Here’s hoping Walters has a speedy recovery!
