Super Bowl Ads 2013: Volkswagon Commercial #GetHappy

It’s Super Bowl season once again and my favorite part of it all (and for most people whose teams aren’t in it) are the commercials! We’ve gotten to see quite a few before the big game this weekend and as usual, there are some hilarious ones out there for 2013.

This one is a Volkswagon commercial called, “Get In. Get Happy,” where a white guy talks like a Jamaican even though he’s from Minnesota. He has a sunny, Caribbean disposition and inspires his co-workers to have the same.

Since it’s revealing, some people have called the Volkswagon commercial “racist” but Wykeham McNeill, Jamaica’s very own minister of tourism and entertainment, loves it. ”I urge persons all across the globe to do exactly what the commercial portrays, which is to tap into your inner Jamaican and get happy.”
