If Lindsay Lohan hasn’t yet felt a little humility over her portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor in Liz & Dick, she will when she sees Helena Bonham Carter give it a go as the legendary actress. HBC will put her to shame! Well at least that’s what the BBC is hoping for as they are planning to air a biopic called Burton & Taylor on their BBC Four channel that will star Mrs. Tim Burton.
According to Deadline, the 90-minute film, which also stars Dominic West as Richard Burton, will “chart the pair’s ill-fated appearance in a 1983 revival of the Noel Coward play, Private Lives, which ran for 63 performances on Broadway.”
Helena, 46, told the Daily Mail, “It’s about this sliver of their lives together. They were huge stars and they’d never been on stage together before.”
Taylor and Burton were married twice, once from 1964-1974 and then again from 1975-1976, and as you all know had quite the tumultuous relationship.
