Lavigne has filed for divorce from Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley

After months of speculation about her marriage, Avril Lavigne has filed for divorce from her husband Deryck Whibley.

She cites the date of the split as September 4th, claiming “irreconcilable differences.” On September 17th she posted the following on her blog:

“Deryck and I have been together for 6 and a half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21.  I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.
Thank you to all my family, friends and fans for all your support.”

Avril is not asking for spousal support nor does she plan on paying any out. We’ll see if that pans out.

Avril Lavigne and Deryk Whibley to Divorce?

The rumors of Avril Lavigne and husband Deryk Whibley divorcing are gaining steam.

The couple, who have been married since 2006, haven’t been photographed together since December 2008!

In the meantime, Avril has been spotted out partying a lot, with male companions at her side. She also recently took a vacation with her girlfriends to St. Tropez, and was said to have been drinking and flirting with guys the entire time. Meanwhile, Deryk was spotted, by himself, at the ‘Transformers’ premiere last June.

So it looks like the couple is really heading for divorce. So not surprising. The pug and the rat just didn’t mesh!

On Lindsay Lohan:

One thing about Hilary is she never starts sh*t with anyone. She pretty much keeps to herself, enjoys her fabulous life and doesn’t crave the spotlight as do some of her peers. That’s class. It’s endangered in Hollywood, so it’s refreshing to see a young, successful female exercise it.

Hollywood is a-humping, folks.

The latest in a long string of pregnant celebrities is Avril Lavigne. IsThis Happening is reporting that the Canadian singer is a month and a half along. She must have just found out in the past week as she was guzzling down the champagne on New Years Eve.

Baby madness is taking over Hollywood! Just watch, there’s going to be a surge in teenage pregnancies in 2008. Babies just might be the new Tinkerbells!

McBride says he and Lavigne “do not engage in attacking people” and that they are focusing on her upcoming world tour.
