Amanda Brumfield Charged in Death of 1-Year-Old

Monday, June 1st, 2009

billy-bob-thornton-daughter

Amanda Brumfield, the daughter of Billy Bob Thornton, has been charged with child neglect which resulted in the death of a 1-year-old child she was babysitting.

Brumfield is Thornton’s oldest child with ex-wife, Melissa Gatlin.

The incident happened in October when Brumfield told police that the child had fallen from her playpen. But police aren’t buying it. The autopsy showed that the baby died of a blunt force to the skull causing a subdural hematoma.

She told police that after the baby’s supposed fall, the only injury she noticed was a bleeding tongue. So she cleaned the cut and went on playing with the child, feeding her fruit, adding that the child was “happy”. She says she then laid down on the couch for a nap and had the child next to her. When she awoke, she discovered the child’s lifeless body.

Police say that Brumfield didn’t call for help until more than 2 hours after the child’s “accident”.

Billy Bob Thornton’s rep released the following statement on behalf of the actor: “Mr. Thornton is estranged from Amanda and has had no contact with her for quite some time, however when informed about this situation he commented that, ‘Anytime a baby’s life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby’s family and loved ones.’”

Billy Bob Thornton Thinks You’re a Humpback Geek

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

billy-bob-thornton

Billy Bob Thornton was on Jimmy Kimmel last night and as you can guess, the botched Canadian interview was brought up.

Billy Bob, who reminds me of Gollum with hair plugs, blamed the entire incident on the radio host, Jian Ghomeshi, saying that Ghomeshi was instructed as what not to say/ask the actor during the interview. He claims they “had a deal” and that Ghomeshi went back on that deal.

If you saw the interview [LINK] you can tell that Ghomeshi was totally blindsided by Billy Bob’s behavior. Thornton refused to answer questions and became an all around jackass throughout the entirety of the interview.

But he is claiming Ghomeshi is the one to blame and that we are all “humpback geeks” for watching it.

Hmmm…if I am a humpback geek, what does that make his spindly old ass? Damn, I still can’t believe Angelina Jolie hit that..

Billy Bob Thornton and Band Cancel Rest of Canadian Tour

Monday, April 13th, 2009

billy bob thorton boxmaster 180808

Billy Bob Thornton and his band the Boxmasters have canceled their remaining Canadian tour dates after Thornton insulted Canadians in a radio interview.

[See the video here.]

Thornton, 53, threw a fit last week during a radio interview after the host briefly mentioned his movie career. Thornton claims the interviewer was told to only speak of his musical “career” and not mention a thing about his past achievements.

When things did not go as he had planned, Thornton refused to answer questions and became extremely difficult and arrogant. Then, to make matters worse, the actor said Canadian fans were like “mashed potatoes with no gravy.” Later Billy Bob retracted his statement saying he was referring to the radio host.

But the Canadians weren’t buying it.

The Boxmasters, who have been opening for country legend Willie Nelson, were booed and heckled at their show the day after the video hit the net.

Now, ironically, the band has supposedly fallen ill and has been forced to cancel the remainder of their Canadian shows. And maybe not so ironically, is the fact that they will rejoin Willie Nelson on the tour once it’s back in the states on April 14th.

Billy Bob Thornton Radio Interview Goes Bad [VIDEO]

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

You know, I have always tried to like Billy Bob Thornton.

He’s eccentric, goofy looking and not your typical Hollywood actor. So naturally, I expected he wouldn’t be a pompous prick like so many Hollywood men. However, I was shocked to find out he is worse!

In a recent interview with Q TV, Billy Bob was a total arrogant db to the interviewer after his acting career was briefly mentioned upon his introduction. Apparently this was not OK with Billy boy who proceeded to be a difficult, snide jackass throughout the rest of the interview.

Thank goodness his bandmates (bandbots) were there to save the host from an absolute meltdown of an interview, but they looked a little uncomfortable as well. Those poor guys have never won and Oscar or been nominated for anything, so this was probably a big deal for them! Too bad their singer had to make it all about him!

Billy Bob, you suck. You’re the laughingstock of Hollywood, sweetheart.

Props to the interviewer for holding his own!

(The best comes after 5:30!)

11 Questions with Billy Bob Thornton

Monday, January 26th, 2009

bbt

Billy Bob Thornton is a sort of an outcast in snobby Tinseltown.

He sticks out like a sore thumb among Hollywood’s elite – and that’s why I like him.

papayaWhat’s the craziest rumor you’ve ever heard about yourself?

One that was bizarre was that I only eat orange food. It was in the papers for two or three years! I used to go to this one hotel and have breakfast there and only order a plate of papaya and coffee, and those hotel people always talk about you to the media. So I think someone must have said, “All he ever orders is papaya,” and it must have come from that.

What initially attracted you to playing music?

My two dreams were to either be in the Beatles or pitch for the St. Louis Cardinals. I listened to country music — particularly Ray Price and Jim Reeves — when I was a little kid, because my folks did. But when my brother and I saw the Beatles on ‘Ed Sullivan,’ I was nine years old and that was the end of it right there — I was either going to be in a band or I’d jump off a building.

Who taught you to play drums?

In the mid ’60s, there was a band in our town called The Yardleys. They were like the Beatles to us. They were seniors when I was a freshman, and they had a drummer named Bucky Griggs who played a red sparkle Ludwig kit. I coveted that kit. He was like Ringo [Starr] … He taught me how to do a couple of things. My first real drum kit was a red sparkle Ludwig kit, just like his.

What’s the biggest misconception about you?

Probably that I’m dark — because I’m really not. I write about dark stuff, I’ve been involved in dark things and I’ve been around a dark world in my lifetime, but I’m a pretty open and friendly guy. [I'm] probably not as strange as people think.

billy-bob-thortonWhat kind of dad are you?

Teddy bear. I’m such a pushover.

You’ve been married five times. Would you ever tie the knot again?

No. I’m not good for that. It’s not my bag. I think I’ve finally proved that! [laughs]

What’s the most personal song you’ve ever written?

‘The Boy Is Gone’ on [my album] ‘Beautiful Door’ because it’s about my brother who died in ‘88, so it’s pretty personal. That’s also [Kris] Kristofferson’s favorite song I’ve written. I hadn’t even told him what it was about, but he responded to that song in a real heavy way.

If you could have a drink with one musician, living or dead, who would it be?

John Lennon.

aj-bbtWho’s an actress you’re dying to work with?

Jessica Biel for one reason and Cate Blanchett for another. I’ve worked with Cate twice, and I’d say she’s probably the best actress out there. I’d like to do another movie with Angie [ex-wife Angelina Jolie], too, one of these days. We talk all the time. She and I keep looking for something to do together; we just have to find the right thing.

If you could play a biographical character in a film, who would it be?

Benjamin Franklin. He was the first rock star. That guy was a total renaissance man. People think of him as the guy who flew a kite and figured out electricity, but he was the Ambassador to France. He was a practical guy, but a real spiritual guy … and a real ladies’ man.

If a movie were made about your life, what actor would you want to play you?

Tim Roth or Gary Oldman. I think they’re good actors.

Téa Leoni Left David Duchovny for Billy Bob Thornton Months Ago

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

In a shocking twist to the David Duchovny sex addiction story, new reports suggest the actor’s wife, Téa Leoni, left him months ago for Billy Bob Thornton!

Téa reportedly became involved in a relationship with Angelina Jolie’s ex after the two met on the set of Manure, a film they both worked on earlier this year.

Duchovny apparently discovered racy text messages on his wife’s phone that were sent from Billy Bob.

Téa is all about Billy Bob these days. She goes to his band’s gigs and has even been seen helping to unload the band’s gear out of the truck.

Tea’s publicist confirmed the actress has split with Duchovny,

“‘Yes, they have separated. She is living on her own with the children in New York, but we did not want to announce it for the sake of the children until after David had received treatment for his problems.”

Billy Bob has three children and five ex-wives. Leoni was married to Duchovny for 11 years and the couple have two children together.

Billy Bob Thornton Opens Up About OCD

Monday, September 10th, 2007

billybob.JPG

Billy Bob Thornton recently talked with Penthouse magazine and spoke candidly about his issues with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

He says that his late friend Warren Zevon had it as well. They would often joke about who had it the worst. But there was one night that Thornton decided Zevon did indeed suffer from a worse form than he.

“Warren had it really bad. We used to have wars over who had it worse. He finally won. He said to me, ‘Do you have it with guns?’ I said, ‘No, you win.’ (Zevon said) ‘If I don’t shoot that beam right there twice before 3.30…’ – that kind of thing.

My OCD is kind of odd. It has less to do with numbers, more about angles. If you told most people to walk and sit the way I do, they’d have you think about every step.”
