Charla Nash, Chimp Victim, Reveals Disfigured Face on OPRAH [VIDEO]

Charla Nash, the woman who was viciously attacked by a friend’s 200-pound chimpanzee last February, is coming out publicly with her story.

[Read about the attack and listen to the 911 call here.]

travis-chimp-charla-nashNash appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show Wednesday and revealed her extremely disfigured face and limbs. Her face was literally torn off after trying to help the chimp’s owner Sandra Herold round up the animal after he had gone ballistic. (So that’s why they call it going “apesh*t!)

When Nash arrived at Herold’s home she had a new hairdo and Travis the chimp did not recognize her. He immediately tore into her, ripping the skin off her face and destroying her hands and fingers while his owner screamed horrifically and ran to call 911. By the time authorities arrived on the scene the damage had been done. They didn’t know if Charla was a man or a woman, and they were traumatized by what they saw. Then Travis the chimp came at an officer, trying to get into his squad car to attack him. That’s when he was shot. Travis crawled back into his home where he died.

This poor woman. To survive something like this is just incredible. Luckily for her she doesn’t remember the attack. I would say that is a HUGE blessing! A sad story for all involved. As much as I love animals, I don’t know about everyday average Joe’s owning wild oness. Too many things can go wrong, and when they do, it’s tragic.

Best of luck to Charla and her recovery.

Motorized Lazy Boy DUI

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

motorized-lazyboy

A motorized Lazy Boy is the DUI vehicle

A 62-year-old Minnesota man, Dennis LeRoy Anderson, was charged with DUI after driving home from a bar on his motorized Lazy Boy.

The pimped out vehicle runs on a lawnmower motor, has a stereo, headlights, and, of course, handy cup holders. And you’ll love this, a sticker on the back reads: “Hell yeah, it’s fast!”

Dennis drove such vehicle to the bar one day in August 2008, downed about 8-9 beers then drove his Lazy Boy home. Everything was fun and games until he crashed into a parked car on the way. Yes, it was parked.

His blood alcohol level was a staggering .29 at the time of his arrest. He failed all sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. He later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 18-months in jail and slapped with a $2000 fine. However, the judge took mercy on old Dennis and stayed his term – as long as he completes an alcohol course, submits to random testing and completes supervised probation for 24-months. His days of cruising the hood in the Lazy Boy, now a distant memory. Not that he actually does remember..

I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I have a friend who seriously has something similar to the Lazy Boy (yeah, I have friends in low places) except his is a motorized barstool. It’s really pretty sweet, but it’s definitely hillbilly bling!

Balloon Boy VOMITS on Today Show! [VIDEO]

Balloon Boy vomits on the Today Show, 10/16/2009

It seems the stress has gotten to “balloon boy,” who couldn’t keep his breakfast down during a live interview with Ann Curry on the Today Show.

It’s a pretty awesome clip, really. The vomiting happens completely out of the blue, and call me warped, but it was a pleasant surprise. It just adds to the whole ridiculousness of the situation. If this family is trying to pull one over on us, karma is certainly not making it easy for them.

Heh.

Balloon Boy HOAX! [VIDEO]

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Balloon Boy hoax exposed!

The world watched intensely as an experimental balloon supposedly carrying a boy cruised for 60 miles in Colorado Thursday afternoon.

The balloon was found, but the boy, quickly dubbed “balloon boy,” was not in it. Then we heard balloon boy had been found in the family’s attic in a cardboard box, hiding.

Now things are getting really fishy.

The boy, Falcon Heene, and his family appeared on CNN Thursday night and if you had any sympathy for the family early on, it might just turn to disgust and anger after seeing this clip.

In the footage, Wolfe Blitzer asks the family if Falcon ever heard them calling out for him when he was hiding. Falcon’s dad asks the child, “Did you hear us calling your name at any time?” Falcon replies, “Uh huh.” His dad, sounding (fake) surprised says, “You did?” then mom chimes in (also fake sounding), “You did?”

Already it’s feeling uncomfortable.

(Pause.)

Falcon: “You guys said . . . that, umm . . . we did this for the show.”

Jaws dropping are heard around the world.

“Yeah,” dad says uncomfortably. (Insert weird fart noise here. I’m just sayin’, lol. Was that dad making a fart noise with his mouth? Was that his way of saying, “What the funk do I do now?”)

“No,” mom interjects. Then the really terrible acting begins.

“You didn’t, erm, come out?” dad asks again. Probably wishing to God he could give his child some direction as to how to reply.

“No,” little Falcon answers. Dad exhales loudly, as if to say, “Whew!”

Wolfe Blitzer, despite saying he heard what Falcon had said, obviously didn’t get it.

What the hell? Was that the most bizarre interview ever? So they were doing it “for the show,” but their Wife Swap episode aired already! What’s the point now? Why use your child this way? I am heated about this. If this does turn out to be a hoax, these people should be prosecuted. There was a lot of manpower and money involved in this. Un. funking. believe

Balloon Boy, Falcon Heene, Found Alive!

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Falcon Heene a.k.a. Balloon Boy, and family

The boy the internet quickly named “Balloon Boy,” has been discovered at his home in Colorado.

He was hiding in a cardboard box in the family’s attic.

Falcon was never in the experimental balloon that took off in Fort Collins, CO and finally landed 60 miles away near Keenesburg. A sibling originally had said that he saw the boy enter the craft before it took off.

Helicopters followed the balloon which flew through the air, spinning and wobbling for more than an hour. People around the world watched on the internet and on television hoping for a safe landing. Luckily, little Falcon never flew.

This isn’t the first time the Heene family has had airtime. [Pun intended, heh.] They once appeared on ABC’s Wife Swap.

Watch video of the spectacle and our original post about the balloon boy, HERE.

6-year-old Boy Floats Away in Hot Air Balloon [VIDEO]

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

“Balloon Boy” video

boy-hot-air-ballon-coloradoA 6-year-old boy climbed into an experimental hot air balloon and has floated away into the skies in Colorado.

The aircraft, which was made by his parents and resembles a UFO, is being monitored by officials who are trying to figure out what to do. The fear is that the balloon will crash with the boy in it. The experimental craft has the potential to reach 10,000 feet.

It’s last known whereabouts was 40 miles north of Denver, near Milliken.

Watch live video of the boy in the balloon and see the developing story HERE!

UPDATE: THe balloon has landed. NO ONE was found inside! One of the helicopters on the scene said the balloon reached 15,000 feet at one time. If you saw the video, you saw what a violent ride that would have been. Let’s hope the little boy is safe and sound somewhere and wasn’t thrown out. OR that it was a hoax!!

UPDATE #2: Another theory….maybe this kid accidentally released his parents’ experimental balloon and was worried he may get into big trouble because of it. So he hid. ?

UPDATE #3: How did this thing get off the ground with a human body in it anyhow? It looked light as a feather.. The more I think about it…hmmm…

UPDATE #4: Balloon Boy has been found alive at his home in Colorado. He was never inside the balloon. He found inside a box in the family’s attic. A sibling originally said that they saw the boy, identified as Falcon Heene, get into the experimental balloon. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/10/15/colorado.boy.balloon/

Bungee Jump Gone Wrong! [VIDEO]

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

bungee-jump-fail

Rishi Baveja’s Bungee Jump Gone Wrong

Ever thought about bungee jumping? If yes, did you consider what could happen if something went wrong?

Rishi Baveja, a 21- year-old from Britain, decided to take the plunge while on vacation in Phuket. It was at the  Jungle Bungy in Kathu where that decision almost cost him his life.

In the video [below] you hear the instructor tell him to “just jump,” and to not think about it. Rishi drops an f-bomb nervously, then does the sign of the cross over his heart before jumping.

He jumps.

At the moment the bungee instructor realizes the harness has snapped you hear him say quietly, “Oh.”

Rishi is incredibly lucky to have survived the fall. He was reportedly doing about 80-mph when he hit the water. His chest took most of the impact, which is good. If he had landed on his head he would have most likely died or have been left brain dead. He suffered a ruptured spleen, torn liver, collapsed lungs and of course, bruising everywhere. It took 4 weeks of recovering in a Bangkok hospital before he was able to return home to England.

Rishi says before the jump he assured his mother what he was doing was safe.

“I knew the jump would be scary but I didn’t think it was dangerous. I had a long phone conversation with my mum telling her it was safe. She only believed me when I told her that the website of the jump center claimed it had a 100 per cent safety record. It still says that. I didn’t need to do that jump. I wish I hadn’t.”

But he does still plan to sky dive! Seriously. I guess if you have survived a bungee fall from 165-ft. you might as well skydive, right? What’s the worst that could happen? Heh.

This story really gets my tummy! I bungee jumped, off a crane, 175-ft. back in 1991. I did it because I am afraid of heights. And while the experience certainly did not cure me of my fear, in fact, it is worse these days, I am glad I did it. But would I do it again? Not in a million years! I liken it to committing suicide by jumping off a building. That very split second you step off and there is nothing under your feet you are thinking, “Oh my God, what did I just do!?” Immediately after that your life literally flashes in front of your eyes. Once you get that bounce back, and know your cord is working, then all you’re thinking is, “I lived! I lived! Ok, that was fun!” Then you’re on this intense adrenaline high for like, an hour.

This poor guy never saw it coming. And to have it as a keepsake on video, oh my. I still can’t believe he actually wants to jump out of a plane now! Crazy. But then again, why live life any other way? I’m envious.
