Borat Still Pissing People Off Everywhere

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

First off, two college freshman who are featured in the movie, ‘Borat’ have claimed that their squeaky clean reputations were tarnished after boozing it up onscreen and flinging racial & sexist slurs around freely.

The men were pushing for their scenes to be deleted from the DVD version, but Judge Joseph S. Biderman ruled that they had failed to meet the standard for a preliminary injunction. Heh.

The men claimed that they were lured with the alcohol and were told that the film wouldn’t air in the US.

Now why would that make much of a difference? So people you knew couldn’t see you being an ass? But if they were strangers, better yet, foreigners, the behavior would be okay?
Idiots.
Morons like these who sue other people should be counter sued for stupidity.

Now there is a guy in South Carolina who has filed suit against ‘Borat’.

This one is a little more legitimate in my opinion.

Another man, also filmed for ‘Borat’, says the deleted scenes of him in a bathroom stall were broadcast on the internet and cable TV. Borat leers over the wall of the stall to peek at the man. The incident took place at an upscale restaurant

“He is embarrassed and humiliated and leaves the restaurant,” Columbia attorney Jonathan Milling said Tuesday. He also says that there were no visible cameras in the bathroom when the incident took place and that his client did not sign anything nor had he been paid anything.

The man was only told it was a documentary for tourism in South Carolina. WTF? He also stated that his client has been recognized by many of his friends and peers on the internet.

Other defendants include web sites YouTube, Google and Comedy Central.

The man is asking for compensation for embarrassment he’s suffered and has asked the deleted scene be removed from web sites and not included in any DVD release.

Can you blame him?

Pam Anderson & Kid Rock Broke Up Thanks to Borat

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Some more info has come in about the Pam/Kid breakup.

Pam reportedly is ending the three month marriage to Kid because according to a source who spoke with the NYPost, Kid has “male insecurity and major anger issues.”

This all came to a head when Universal Studio’s chief Ron Meyer had a showing of the movie sensation, ‘Borat’ at his Beverly Hills house two weeks ago. A friend of Pam’s explains, “Ron Meyer held a screening of ‘Borat’ at his house for a bunch of people, including Pam and Bob, it was the first time Bob had seen the movie, and, well, he didn’t like it.”

In the flick, ‘Borat’ falls in love with Pamela after seeing ‘Baywatch’, then drives across the country so he can propose to her. Pam’s friend goes on to dish to Page Six,

“Bob started screaming at Pam, saying she had humiliated herself and telling her, ‘You’re nothing but a whore! You’re a slut! How could you do that movie?’ - in front of everyone. It was very embarrassing.
Pam thought he could have a sense of humor about the movie. She was in on the gag from the very beginning and loved doing the movie. And on the eve of what was supposed to be a very positive thing, he made it an awful night.
Ever since that night, it has been icicles between them, Bob is just a very unhappy and angry man. Pam is very disenchanted and sad. You know, there are reasons why she never married him before. Those reasons disappeared while they were together on a boat in St. Tropez, but she knows now that they never went away. The reality is he is an insecure, angry man.

Pamela has since kicked him to the curb and left her Malibu mansion until he gets his crap out of the house.

Afternoon Briefs - Your Guilty Pleasure

Tawny Kitaen, 45, 1980s rock video vixen and more recently reality star of VH1’s The Surreal Life was charged Tuesday with possessing 15 grams of cocaine. Prosecutors said Kitaen faces up to three years in prison if convicted on the single count of possessing a controlled substance. (Suspended if she is found eligible for a drug diversion program and rehabilitation)
Police were called to her San Juan Capistrano, CA home in May for a child welfare check. She agreed to a search of her home and that’s when the police came across the cocaine. Apparently she did not appear to be under the influence at the time. Her arraignment is set for December 18th.

Kyle Doss, one of the men who Michael Richards targeted during an onstage rampage, told NBC’s ‘Today’ that he thinks that Richards only apologized due to the outburst being on video.
Richards has since apologized to the Reverends Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton. Sharpton spoke out about the incident saying,
“Before any apology should even be considered, Michael Richards should apologize to the people to whom his remarks were directed and most offended. In all due respect to David Letterman, it seems strange that one would insult African Americans in a long tirade and then go on a white television show with a mostly white studio and viewing audience to make a statement of apology. If Mr. Richards has something to say, he should say it to us, and let us respond to him. Mr. Letterman, who is a fine gentleman, is in no position to discuss whether his apology should be accepted or rejected.”
Meanwhile, Jamie Foxx has threatened Richards with bodily harm if the two ever cross paths..

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are cruising Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike. Few people recognize them in Viet Nam so you can guess why they would chose to relax there. The overrated power couple have been taking a break from filming ‘A Mighty Heart’ in India, and most likely a break from the mobs of people and publicity.

Leading Kazakh writer, Sapabek Asip-uly, has nominated actor Sacha Baron Cohen for a national award for popularizing Kazakhstan . Asip-uly says that Borat “has managed to spark an immense interest of the whole world in Kazakhstan, something our authorities could not do during the years of independence.” He also stated, “If state officials completely lack a sense of humor, their country becomes a laughing stock,” referring to Russia’s banning of the movie.

Kevin Federline has reportedly been offered almost $300K to appear on Britain’s hot reality show, “Celebrity Big Brother”.
“Kevin is hugely entertaining because he takes himself really seriously, even though no one else does. He’ll be great for the show because it’ll about larger-than-life characters,” an insider reportedly told The Sun.

More ‘Borat’ BS

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

TMZ has obtained a copy of the release agreement signed by the ordinary people who appeared in the “Borat” movie, but even more significant than the release is the standard cover letter.

Two frat boys who appeared in the movie have sued the film’s producers, claiming they were defrauded. They allege producers promised them that they were appearing in a Kazakhstani TV documentary that would never be shown in the U.S.

The release agreement that TMZ obtained is difficult to read, and the participant who supplied TMZ with the copy says his original is equally hard to read. Nevertheless, it is a comprehensive, standard release which basically signs away your first born.

The cover letter is interesting. It almost seems like it’s written by Borat himself. It begins, “Dear Film Participant.” The letter continues, “Thanks very much for your interest in appearing in our Film. We’re glad that you want to appear in the film to share your views or insights with the public.”

And it goes on: “Attached is our standard legal consent agreement. You’ll see it explains that in addition to the chance to appear in the Film, you will get an appearance fee of $___., in return for your letting us have unrestricted rights to use your image and voice in our Film. As the agreement makes clear, you will be waiving all claims in relation to the Film.” (TMZ)

Someone Finally Slugs Borat

Monday, November 13th, 2006

See, I am not the only one who can’t stand him…heh.

“Borat” star Sacha Baron Cohen was beaten up by a passer-by after he tried to play a prank as his alter ego.
He approached the man and said: “I like your clothings. Are nice! Please may I buying? I want have sex with it.”
But the bystander didn’t see the joke.
He took one look at Cohen and punched him in the face.

The funnyman — known for his Borat catchphrase “Jagshemash!” — yelled for help but was slugged again and again.

He was rescued by actor pal Hugh Laurie who had been on his way to a New York bar with Cohen.

Laurie rushed to help and pushed the man away as Cohen struggled to his feet. A pal of Cohen said: “Sacha couldn’t resist playing the fool as Borat, but picked on the wrong person.
“I guess this guy thought he was being attacked by someone unstable and lashed out. Sacha is very lucky he didn’t get a much worse beating.”
The incident took place after Laurie and Cohen appeared on the US TV show Saturday Night Live. The Brit comics were on their way to a late dinner when Laurie suggested they visit a bar in Manhattan.
Laurie, 47, told friends he feared Cohen was going to get badly beaten up. Luckily, 35-year-old Cohen did not receive any lasting scars. Studio chiefs have warned Cohen to avoid pretending to be the spoof Kazakhstan TV reporter on the streets. Since the film was launched he has only appeared in character while promoting the movie on American television shows.

Borat’s Lawsuit & Possible Ban

Friday, November 10th, 2006

Am I the only one in the nation who cannot stand the moron known as ‘Borat‘?

No, I will not see the movie, in the theater or on DVD. Sacha Baron Cohen’s character repulses me with his looks alone. I think his humor is sophomoric. I can’t believe he has taken the nation by storm. I am embarrassed.
Anyway, the goofball is being sued by a couple of frat boys who appear in the movie as well as the man who claims that he was the inspiration for ‘Borat‘.

“As Borat marches towards the $100m mark at the global box office this weekend, the film’s producers are facing legal action as well as a ban in Russia. The outrageous antics of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Kazakh journalist have attracted a lawsuit from two fraternity boys featured in the film, as well as legal threats from a Turkish man.
Studio Twentieth Century Fox has dismissed the merits of a case filed this week by two college students from a South Carolina university, who allege that they were duped into appearing in a “humiliating” skit in the film.
The students claim the film’s producers found them in their frat house and loosened them up with alcohol before getting them to sign an agreement to take part in a documentary-style film that would only air in Europe. They claim that footage of a prolonged drinking scene with Borat in which they make misogynistic and racist comments are defamatory. They seek an injunction to stop the studio from displaying their image and likeness, along with unspecified monetary damages.

Meanwhile a 44-year-old Turkish man has come forward claiming to be the inspiration behind Borat. Mahir Cagri, who shot to fame on the internet in 1999 with a website showing unwittingly comical photos of himself sunbathing, says Cohen stole his idea and is considering legal action, adding that he feared people would mistake him for the Kazakh character.
Commentary on Cagri’s website includes the uncannily Borat-esque line: “I like to take photo-camera (animals, towns, nice nude models and peoples).”
Meanwhile, filmgoers in Russia may have to wait a while before getting the opportunity to decide for themselves what to make of the controversial personality. The local distributor has decided to pull the Nov 30 release after authorities advised that the film contained ethnic and religiously offensive material.
Borat’s tongue-in-cheek shenanigans include a nude chase through a black tie dinner for mortgage brokers, the attempted kidnapping of Pamela Anderson, and numerous expressions of bigotry.” (http://film.guardian.co.uk)
