After tragically losing two young Hollywood stars in one week, a handful of teen role models are stepping up to encourage young adults to steer clear of drinking, drugs and a partying lifestyle.
Hannah Montana’s Miley Cyrus, Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively and others want to inspire teens to be in charge of their lives and enjoy it to the fullest without living dangerously.
Amanda Bynes, 21, says, “I don’t like to drink. I have definitely stayed out of the party scene. I’ve been offered to go to those parties, but I feel like I would be the one who would die if I did something.”
Of reckless hard partying starlets she says, “I don’t know how they think they’re gonna live forever.”
Ashley Tisdale, 22, says has been inspired by her mother. “I don’t drink, and I don’t smoke. It’s a personal preference. My mom has never drunk or smoked. I look up to my mom. I don’t understand how people do it —I work non-stop! Then when I’m done working, I’m just so tired I just want to be home.”
Young county singer Taylor Swift, 18, says she just isn’t into the club scene. “Clubs are just not where I want to be photographed.”
She goes on to say that every young star should remember that they are role models. “For everything I do, I think about a 6-year-old girl and her mom that I saw at my concert last night. I think about what those two individuals would think if I were at a club last night.
I never want to be arrested, and I never want to get a DUI. Those are my moral values. I am an over-achiever, and I want to be known for the good things in my life.”
Miley Cyrus, 15, Hollywood’s hottest teen star reminds girls to believe in themselves. “The most important thing is really staying true to yourself. That’s what my mom taught me. She’s the most beautiful girl, not only on the outside but on the inside. She’s teaching me how to be a good person.”

Last week I told you that Natalie Portman had a new line of vegan shoes coming out, but I didn’t know the specifics.
I got a few emails asking for more information on the shoes - and here it is.
Portman designed the line of vegan footwear along with Té Casan, and aptly named it the ‘Natalie Portman Collection’. Animal friendly with no fur, leather, feathers, or skins. Only one pair have been revealed, a patent red Mary-Jane heel, as shown on the company’s website.
The shoes are a bit spendy, averaging around $200 a pair. However, 5 percent of profits will be donated to charities.
The Natalie Portmans can be ordered online Jan. 15 - otherwise you’ll have to wait until February when they hit shelves.

“I lost my brother when I was eleven years old, and my brother was killed by a drunk driver and he was 21. At the time there were absolutely no rules in place at all. This guy not only crossed the double yellow line and hit my brother head on and killed him, but he broke his leg and tried to sue my family for breaking his leg.
We’ve gone so far the other way thankfully. Now my friend who just got his first drunk driving thing says it’s such a hassle and he said he would never ever do it again.”
