Hollywood Wax Museum to Auction Figures to Public

The Hollywood Wax Museum is having their very first auction to help raise funds to preserve Hollywood’s famous Walk of Fame.

On May 1st, the museum will be offering nearly 200 celebrity wax figures for the cause.

Wax celebrities that will be up for bidding are Bill Clinton, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Lucille Ball, Johnny Carson, Will Smith, Cher, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean.

What a party accessory!

Senior Sculptor Colin Jackson works on a clay head mold of First Lady Michelle Obama at Merlin Studios in London.

The clay molds are a crucial step in the up to six month-long figure creation process. The full wax figure will be unveiled at Madame Tussauds Washington D.C. in March.

Winehouse a No-Show to Her Own Wax Unveiling

Amy Winehouse was honored by Madame Tussauds in London today with a wax figure made in her likeness.

However, the junkie singer didn’t attend the unveiling. Instead, her parents revealed the wax clone to the world.

The figure wears the recognizable bright yellow dress that Amy wore to the 2007 Brit Awards and has the same tattoos, but looks just a bit healthier than she appears in real life. A little more meat on her bones, especially in the face – and no track marks or fresh cuts running up and down her arms.

Amy’s parents proudly posed next to the figure, which is displayed in the museum’s ‘Music Zone’ area. Her father said, “This is the reward for her musical achievements and her talent.” He added that his daughter would be at the museum soon to check it out. You know, whenever she can put the crack pipe down..

What a great show that was. Marshall, Will & Holly. And of course, (my favorite) Chaka. When I saw Brad Pitt’s wax figure with Angie and Baby Shiloh, I couldn’t help but see the similarities between the wax Brad and apeboy, Chaka.

Ok, maybe it’s just me.
