Katherine Heigl and her yummy husband Josh Kelley are adopting a 10-month old baby this week.

The baby is a girl named Naleigh (Leigh for short) and she’s from Korea. Apparently this has been in the works for 6 months. Must be why she is leaving Grey’s Anatomy temporarily..

Katherine has been quoted a few times as saying she would prefer to adopt than have her own child. In fact, her own sister is adopted and from Korea. I totally don’t blame her for not wanting to do the preggo thing, I’m never going there either!

Congrats to the new parents!

Sheryl Crow’s new song, Lullaby For Wyatt, is a tribute to her adopted son. The baby was in the studio while mom was recording the tune and Crow insists if fans listen carefully, the tot can be heard at the end of the song.

According to News of the World, Britney Spears has been going through the process of trying to adopt twins from China.

This has all the makings of a bad joke!

I refuse to believe this one, but according to ‘friends’ of Britney’s (she has friends?) Brit has decided to adopt the two six-year-old kids since her own offspring have essentially been taken from her. I doubt any adoption agency would hand out kids to a mother who just lost her own children. Am I wrong here?

NOTW is also reporting that Britney is already planning her funeral in case her crazy lifestyle brings her life to an early end. They say she recently spent $50K on arrangements.  That’s probably one of the better ideas Britney has had in recent times.

A source ‘close to Britney’ told NOTW,

“It doesn’t seem that Britney has thought this through completely. Adoption and a funeral? The two don’t exactly go hand-in-hand. Paying for a funeral is a sensible thing to do—but not when you’re only 25! It’s a case of too much, too soon with Britney. Not a week goes by without something strange happening to her now. She’s doing herself no favors.”

Do you believe this one? The funeral stuff, I would never doubt, but the adoption thing? Whatever! There would be a backlash from children’s rights advocates AND from people like you and I. If it did happen, it would be huge news and would bring a flurry of media and attention to Britney and the kids. But it won’t happen, watch and see.

On Thursday’s Daily Show, Jon Stewart asked Angelina Jolie about the number of children she and Brad would like to end up with.

Jolie’s response was, "It fluctuates between 7 and 13 or 14."

Stewart was amazed and replied, "Wow, I’ll tell you this: I admire that, because two is kicking my ass."

Jolie agreed, "Yeah, I understand that. Four is kind of kicking our ass, but we kind of feel like, ‘Damn it, we’re up for the challenge!’ "

Also on Thursday, Jolie appeared on CNN’s Larry King Live, where she talked about little Pax Thien

"He’s wild. He’s beautiful and wild," she said.

"He had no freedoms for three and a half years. … He lived in the same place on the same cot along with 20 other cots and did things at the exact same time and had no chance to have an opinion himself or do – he lived a very structured life. But he’s also suddenly very free."

Jolie went on to say that Pax was named by her late mother. "My mom wrote a list of names when we were going to have Shiloh," said Jolie. "One of the names that she suggested was Pax because it meant peace. [But] he’s anything but at the moment."

Paula Abdul says that if she is unable to conceive a child naturally that she will consider adopting.

Abdul said, "With medical technology these days, I could have children by myself using a donor. But I would rather be in a relationship so the child has a father to help instill core values.

"If it’s meant for me to have children naturally, I absolutely will. I love kids, I really do. And kids love me. I’m so open to the idea of adoption. But, again, I would like to be able to share the raising of the children."
