Jamie Spears Convinces Justin Timberlake to Visit Britney

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Britney Spears‘ father, Jamie Spears, has reportedly reached out to ex-flame Justin Timberlake for help with his daughter’s mental issues.

According to Life & Style magazine, Britney’s dad is planning a low key summer barbecue where Britney and Justin can talk and…probably feel a little awkward.

A source said, “Jamie reached out to Justin and asked if he’d be willing to come over to Britney’s house to talk to her face-to-face, and Justin said yes. Jamie’s hoping that by finally seeing him, she’ll be able to get some real closure, some resolution. He thinks that might be a huge help to her.”

Can someone explain to me how this is supposed to help her? Geeze, poor JT, he can’t get away from this crazy family! He’ll never live down the fact that he was Britney Spears’ first boyfriend, and it seems like her family will never let him forget it either! Move ON bitches! Leave the guy alone!

Like getting together and talking with Justin will make Britney feel better. It will probably make her feel even worse! He actually has a career, a love interest and a LIFE! Everything she is lacking. Brilliant thinking Dad!

Celebrity Quote of the Day – Jenny McCarthy

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

mccarthy-autism.jpg

“I’ve been speaking to moms across the country who are all shouting out the same thing: ‘This (diet and supplement intake) is working.’ It’s so heartbreaking to see the medical community not support something called diet and vitamins. And it pains us, city after city after city. I see this heartbreak on these mom’s faces. Autism isn’t covered by (medical) insurance. If things like diets and supplements are working, then why not support it? These kids are getting better and I will not shut up and will not stop fighting about it.”

- Jenny McCarthy wants the medical community to support the fact that vitamins and diet can ease the symptoms of autism in children.

Jimmy Kimmel Takes Care of Staff During WGA Strike

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

jimmy-k-1203.jpg

Jimmy Kimmel knows true Christmas spirit – he has secretly been paying people on his staff since the start of the WGA strike.

Kimmel has been especially taking care of those who have the lesser paying, more menial jobs. The ones who would no doubt be effed if they lost a job during the holiday season. Senior staffers are also being “taken care of” by ABC.

Kimmel and his staff will not comment on the matter.

Good for Kimmel. Back when I was in my early 20’s and very, very poor, I worked for a dentist who would take off two weeks. I made the least amount of money in the office (I had just gotten into the profession) and was definitely hurt big time by his annual vacation. It’s not like he was going to pay me for that time so I just suffered by working a few days for temp agencies (which is a load of fun -NOT) and donating plasma and shit. Yeah, really! Sad times.

Anyhow, this is why I love Kimmel. I’m not the biggest fan of his late night show, but he is cool. Good for you Jimmy, everyone should be so lucky to have an employer that actually cares.

Beth Ditto’s PSA

Monday, November 26th, 2007

The Gossip’s Beth Ditto did a Public Service Announcement against online bullying.

She said she was once the target of bullies and she can relate to what kids go through these days. She said,

“As a big girl, I was bullied quite a bit, made fun of quite a lot. It would have been really easy for me to turn out to be a huge bully, and be really mean to people. But its actually turned out far more empowering, far more helpful to be a little stronger about it and not treat people the way they treated me. It’s probably the best rule in life to treat people how you’d want to be treated.”

“Everyone told me about this girl and she sings everyone else’s songs from her bedroom, and she’s really good.”

Lindsay Lohan to be a Playboy Bunny?

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

lindsay-whorin.jpg

Lindsay Lohan may play a Playboy Bunny in an upcoming film.

She has been offered a possible role in the new biopic of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, and it seems many in Hollywood are ready to take another chance on Lohan.

Brett Ratner, who is directing the Playboy movie, told E!,

“She is very talented – if she is sober. She would be great as a Playboy Bunny.”

Others producers are also supporting Lohan.

James Robinson
, who once called Lindsay “discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional” on the set of ‘Georgia Rule’ is willing to give Lindsay another shot.

He told the New York Post,

“I would absolutely work with her again. I’d treat her like one of my own kids. She has all this fame and no one in her family to reel her in, no one to guide her, and one thing led to another. She is very, very talented and was never a diva on the set.”

Harvey Weinstein who worked with Lindsay on ‘Bobby’ also has nothing but support to lend for the 21 year-old actress.

“Of course I would work with her again. She’s a wonderful actress. She did a great job in ‘Bobby’. Lindsay is a wonderful talent. I just hope that Lindsay is fine. She’s a good lady.”

Eddie Vedder Talks About Fatherhood

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

eddie-olivia1.jpg

Eddie Vedder of the 90’s angsty grunge band Pearl Jam says he hasn’t mellowed in recent years. In fact he says he has gotten angrier than ever. Part of the reason, Vedder says, is that he wants the world to be a better place for his three-year old daughter, Olivia.

“When I had a child, everyone was telling me that I was going to see the world through her eyes, and everything was going to get this nice gloss to it,” Vedder told reporters at Tuesday’s Into the Wild press conference in West Hollywood. “I kept waiting for that to happen, and thought there was a real problem with me that it wasn’t.

It was a different reaction. It wasn’t the glowy lovey-dovey. It fueled my anger.

I realized that I was getting more angry – the exact opposite – and maybe it was because of the times, three years ago and what’s still happening. … All of a sudden, I saw the world as her world that they were [messing] with. That really pissed me off.

I don’t know what I’m going to say when she sees pictures of me hanging 30 feet off a rafter, over a crowd. At a certain point, you realize you have a responsibility more behind yourself and your need for adrenaline. I’m glad I did things in my 20s that were more reckless.”

Vedder wants to avoid the mistakes his parents made while raising him.

“I’m trying to break any chain of negative parenting that I might have survived. I know that she’s going to go through a time where she has to assert her independence. I’m going to have to just encourage that.

I think she’s going to have a great upbringing. Already, she’s provided a life of travel. I didn’t get to New York until 25 or Europe until I was 26. She’s been to all these places six or seven times. She’s beyond me in terms of her comfortability around other people, to this day.”
