Harvey Korman, most known for his appearances on “The Carol Burnett Show“, died Thursday at the age of 81.
Korman suffered the “rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm” four months ago and died at UCLA Medical Center due to complications. His daughter said it was a miracle he survived the initial illness. He had several surgeries since.
Carol Burnett’s assistant commented saying the actress is devastated by his passing.
Rapper Xzibit’s premature infant son died Monday morning.
Xavier Kingston Joiner was born on May 15th. Xzibit blogged on his MySpace that his son’s lungs were not strong enough to breathe oxygen. After struggling for eleven days, Xavier died.
The rapper also blogged the day his son was born and he described the pain the family was going through. He also praised the importance of family.
“I am writing you from the hospital right now because Xavier was born a lil pre-maturely. But I am keeping faith that everything will work out fine. I tell you people, bringing a life into this world right now is a blessing for me. I have had time to focus and put A LOT of sh** into perspective over the last few years. And at the end of the day, if you don’t have FAMILY around you … you don’t have sh**.”
“I must tell you this, it is unnatural for a parent to bury a child. I am telling you this because of the same reason I tell you when I’m having great times, life is too short to be fake. Hold on to your kids, if you have them. Protect them and show them you love them everyday you wake up and see them. Don’t take a second you get to hug them, teach them and care for them for granted. You can have all the material wealth in the universe, but it is NOTHING compared to having your family.”
Our thoughts are with the family of Xavier Kingston Joiner.
The father of former Saturday Night Live cast member, Cheri Oteri, was murdered in Nashville this weekend.
Thomas Oteri, 69, was stabbed to death Saturday night by his roommate and longtime business partner, Richard Fagan, 61.
Fagan was also arrested for DUI Saturday night, after the incident, and told officers that he had an argument with Thomas at approximately 9pm and had cut him ‘across his body’ before leaving.
Oteri’s body was not discovered until Sunday afternoon when a friend visited.
Fagan has been charged with homicide.
The grizzly bear Will Farrell is seen wrestling with in his new movie Semi Pro attacked and killed a trainer at a training facility.
The bear, Rocky, is 5 years-old and 7 feet tall. He weighs more than 700 pounds. He has been used in numerous films and advertisements in the past, and was training for an upcoming commercial when he lunged at Stephan Miller, 39, biting him in the neck.
Maurice Moore of the San Bernadino Fire Department looked grim as he told reporters, “He, unfortunately, bit one of the trainers. A single bite to the neck, no aggression acts to follow.”
“San Bernadino Big Bear City was the first on scene. They did CPR but to no avail.”
Other trainers used pepper spray to contain the bear.
Cameron Diaz has released an official statement to the public regarding the untimely death of her father.
“My mom, sister and I are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this difficult time for us and all of our family. My dad was loved by so many people and his humor and spirit will always live on in our hearts.”
Sad times.
Cameron Diaz’s father died early Tuesday morning unexpectedly.
Emilio Diaz, 58, had recently contracted the flu which had morphed into pneumonia. His death was a shock to friends and family who say he was in excellent physical health.
Filming on Diaz’ latest film, “My Sister’s Keeper,” has been halted. I would assume Cameron will be taking some time off to grieve.
Emilio had a brief part in the film, “There’s Something About Mary.” He played the character, “Jailbird.”
Our condolences to Cameron, family and friends.
