I didn’t know Vanilla was rockin’ the wonk eye!

Rob Van Winkle, a.k.a. Vanilla Ice, was arrested last night after being involved in a heated altercation with his wife.

Laura Van Winkle called the police and told them that he was kicking and hitting her. However, after police arrived she changed her story saying he had merely pushed her.

Rob was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on a charge of simple domestic battery.

Laura told police, “He started yelling at me for going out to buy a bedroom set. In front of my daughter. I’m sorry I can’t say any more until I talk to an attorney.”

She also stated that she wants a divorce from her husband.

Rob told authorities that his wife is bipolar and although medicated is prone to ‘argumentative episodes’. He added that the couple had been fighting since the day before and claims his wife threw a picture that shattered by himself and their children. He denies pushing her.

Ashlee Simpson, 23, and Pete Wentz, 28, are engaged to be married.

A source told Us magazine, “They are ecstatic and can’t wait to be man and wife. They will be getting married before the end of the year.”

Simpson’s spokesperson confirmed the news, “Yes, they are happily engaged.” However, they wouldn’t confirm if the pop star is pregnant.

Simpson posted the following on friendsorenemies.com yesterday:

“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged.”

Simpson and Wentz have been together since 2006.

Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn have decided to call off their divorce and have been seen out and about together in recent days.

A dismissal was filed and granted in court on Tuesday and that same day the couple was seen at an Eddie Veder concert where Sean dedicated a song to Robin for her 42nd birthday.

The couple each filed for divorce separately last December. They have been married 11 years and have 2 children.

I guess Petra wasn’t that good. Heh.

Katie Holmes showed off her new short and spunky haircut at Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles Monday.

I can’t help but think it makes her look like Tommy!

She may have cut her hair for an upcoming Broadway role, and it does look good on her from what I can tell, but it’s still creeping me out.

Amy Winehouse’s incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil was attacked in jail by inmates looking to score some smack.

The men figured Blake was carrying heroin since he’s failed three drug tests while in prison. Shockingly enough, he had none on him at the time of the assault.

A source told News of the World, “He got ambushed by a few blokes who thought he had heroin on him. He’s been put in solitary three times already for failing drug tests so they figured it was a fair bet he’d be carrying some - although he wasn’t. Because Blake is such a high-profile inmate, he’s a natural target. There have been lots of threats and for a long time he just kept himself confined to his cell - he’ll be staying there a lot more now.”

Corinne Bailey Rae’s husband died Saturday of a suspected drug overdose.

Jason Rae, 31, died at his home in Leeds, England. It is not known if Corinne was with him at the time of death. She is said to be absolutely devastated and has understandably refrained from releasing any statements.

Jason was known to have issues with substance abuse. A friend of his said, “He partied a lot and had struggled with drugs for years.”

Corinne and Jason were married in 2001, before her sudden rise to fame.

Corinne said in an interview last year, “I feel really lucky that I found someone that I want to spend my life with at such an early age.”

West Yorkshire Police released a statement saying, “Police were called to a flat in the Hyde Park area of Leeds - where they found the body of a 31-year-old man. A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. He is now on police bail pending further enquiries.”

The autopsy was inconclusive and results of toxicology tests will determine the cause of death.

Bailey Rae’s record label also released a statement, “EMI Records would like to offer its sincere condolences to Corinne Bailey Rae and the Rae family at this tragic time. We ask that the media respects Corinne’s privacy and that of her entire family.”

So sad. I think Corinne is just darling. Hopefully she will pull through.
