Jodie Sweetin on the Today Show, 11/2/2009

Matt Lauer interviewed Jodie Sweetin on the Today Show this morning.

Sweetin was there promoting her new book, Unsweetined, as well as telling us, once again, about her struggles with drug and alcohol abuse. I’m pretty much over her and her stories. I still don’t trust her. She hasn’t proven that she is 100% clean yet. Last time she did a big media tour like this she was simultaneously using. I do hope for her sake that she is clean though, I mean, I don’t want to see her fail, but I think she’s coming out with this book and everything a little too soon. Little Boy who Cried Wolf, anyone?

Dita Von Teese says that drugs nearly destroyed her world famous physique when she was a teenager.

Teese, 37, admits that her flirtation with drugs quickly turned into a habit that took it’s toll on her body. She says that her weight dropped to just 91 pounds and that she lost her breasts in the process. Even after kicking drugs and regaining her health her boobs were never quite the same, so she opted for implants.

She explained:

“I was a bit of a party girl in the early ’90s and used LSD and Ecstasy. Eventually my weight dropped to 6stone 7-lbs. (91 pounds) and I looked terrible, so I gave up drugs. My breasts never recovered, so when I was 21 I had 32D implants. Now I’m a healthy 8st 2-lbs. (114 pounds).”

And looking good at that weight, I might add.

Dita spoke about her supposed “Drug ravaged boobs” on her Twitter yesterday saying, “Tabloid Headline:”Von Teese’s drug-ravaged boobs.” I was just thinking I could go for a (drug-free) boob ravaging, romance novel style.”

Andre Agassi says he used meth

Andre Agassi was once a crystal meth user, the former tennis star reveals in his new book, Open.

Agassi admits that back in the late 90s he started using the drug regularly. When asked if he was an addict at any time he responded,”I can’t speak to addiction, but a lot of people would say that if you’re using anything as an escape, you have a problem.”

And what might his fans think about his past drug use? “I was worried for a moment, but not for long. I wore my heart on my sleeve and my emotions were always written on my face. I was actually excited about telling the world the whole story.”

In the book Agassi also discusses his failed marriage to actress Brooke Shields, his current marriage to Steffi Graf, and losing that hunky long mullet he once had.

Jodie Sweetin, the fallen child star who, on more than one occasion, has lied about her sobriety, is claiming, AGAIN, to be sober.

But this time, instead of exhausting the morning show circuit and speaking publicly about sobriety (after coming off a two day bender), she has written a book.

unSweetined is a tell-all describing her relapse, her deceptions and her eventual sobriety. I can’t help but wonder if it’s a work of fiction. Another paycheck to fund her drug habit. I don’t trust that she is clean anymore than I trust that Joe Francis is a gentleman.

How many times is she going to claim she’s sober? Even the little boy who cried wolf only got so many chances.  It’s turned into a money making gig for her. Getting paid to talk about being clean, then taking the money and running off to buy an 8-ball.

An excerpt from the book:

“I thought for sure that one of the professors would take one look at me and kick me out. But none did. They wanted to hear about the trials and tribulations of Jodie Sweetin, or at least the Jodie Sweetin I had created by appearing on Good Morning America and talking to People magazine.

“The relapse started one day, just a few months after my GMA spot, when I got a random phone call from a friend who I used with and who occasionally sold me drugs. I invited her to my place. I was in an apartment at the time. I knew it was a really bad idea to invite her over but I wanted to test myself, I guess. We hung out, played cards. I told her I hadn’t done meth in a while. One thing led to another and just like that, I was back. I was living a complete lie. But unfortunately, guilt doesn’t make you stop. I talked about growing up on television and about how great my life was now that I was sober… The little bit of coke that I had done before the speech wasn’t enough to make me forget how bad I felt for doing what I was doing. The guilt was eating away at me. I was struggling to keep it together, but no one realized that. I finished. They applauded. Standing ovation. Just how I liked it. And it was over.

“I went back to my hotel room and buried my face in my hands. I couldn’t keep doing this. It had to end.But not today. I wiped away the tears and finished the baggie of coke.”

I’m not buying what she’s selling. She claims she invited a known drug addict over to “test herself”? Bullish! What she is doing is twisting the truth, so maybe we can call it a work of fiction. At the very least, is it “loosely” based on a true story. Very loosely. KY jelly loose, even.

unSweetined hits shelves November 3rd.

Andy Milonakis flashes a fat baggie of medical marijuana at the Katsuya sushi restaurant last night.

For those of you who don’t know who he is, don’t worry, he’s not 15. He has a congenital growth-hormone condition so even though he is 33 he looks much younger. I’m sure he used that condition to score the medical marijuana.

Some guys have all the luck.

MacKenzie Phillips’ Oprah interview is set to air today and we have learned what her shocking secret is.

She slept with her father, John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas.

MacKenzie says that in 1979, the night before she was to marry Jeff Sessler, a member of the Rolling Stones entourage, she blacked out on drugs and awoke to her father having sex with her.

“On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to stop it. I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad’s bed. My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father. Had this happened before? I didn’t know. All I can say is it was the first time I was aware of it.”

This was not your normal case of incest, the sexual relationship became consensual by 1980. That same year MacKenzie was fired from One Day at a Time and she and her father attended rehab together, which I believe was in vain because Mac has been in and out of rehabs up until recently.

In my last post about MacKenzie I mentioned that, if you recall, she tried smuggling cocaine and heroin through the airport last year and was caught. She eventually thanked authorities for catching her with the drugs, saying they saved her life. She claimed to have been clean since 1992 – which I have a hard time believing that the ONE time she decided to use was that particular day. I’m sure she had been using up until that point, we just don’t know for how long. The thanking authorities bit seemed like an act for the public.

Talk about a messed up relationship. I feel dirty just writing about it. I am having a real hard time with the consensual part! I can’t imagine being messed up on drugs so badly that having sex with your daughter/father seems OK. No wonder she is such a mess.

I don’t think the story is as shocking as the fact that MacKenzie is willing to talk about it publicly. That has to be hard, making yourself so vulnerable and open.

I still don’t trust her. Not that I doubt her story, again, just her motives.  And is she really clean these days? I find that hard to believe. She seems like a “lifer” to me. Broken beyond repair.

McKenzie Phillips on Oprah

MacKenzie Phillips, daughter of John Phillips and former television/movie actress, is appearing on Oprah Wednesday and will be revealing some supposed “shocking secrets” about her family.

In this clip you get a preview of what’s to come.

MacKenzie talks about how her father was the first person to shoot her up with drugs and how Mick Jagger told her, “I’ve been waiting for this since you were 10 years old,” before bedding her. We’ve heard these stories before, but apparently MacKenzie does have a secret she will be revealing on the Oprah Winfrey Show that we’ve never heard.

She’s probably going to say that her dad sexually abused her. I don’t know this for sure, just a hunch.  If this is the case, I wonder how her siblings will respond.

I never know how much to believe of what MacKenzie says. I still don’t think she is 100% sober. I could be wrong, but if you recall it hasn’t even been a year since she was busted for attempting to smuggle cocaine and heroin in plastic baggies and balloons onto a flight. You can never trust a junkie. It makes me wonder what her motive is for appearing on Oprah’s show.

In news I find not so surprising, Lindsay Lohan may know the kid who robbed her home.

Nick Prugo, 18, has been arrested in connection with the burglary that took place last month while Lindsay was out partying.

Sources from the set of “Labor Pains”, a movie Lindsay starred in and filmed last year, say that Nick was often seen on set with our little red-haired, orange skinned actress. At least 10 times, says the source. Hmmm…

Nick has had a few run-ins with authorities this year. In February he was arrested for cocaine possession. Yes, cocaine. Lindsay’s drug of choice! Surprise, surprise. He also was arrested last month for DUI.

So unless you’re completely clueless/naive, you can see the connection here. This guy most likely scored blow for her. Now, why would he break into her home? Well, this “blind” item might just answer that:

This blind item is going to be phrased as a piece of advice. If you pay your drug dealer on time he won’t break into your house and take your things. Just saying.

Lindsay has never been known for playing fair when it comes to the cocaine. Because she’s a total feen. Remember when Steve-O said she stole a bag of blow from him?

Again, none of this is shocking. In fact, it’s pretty much what I have suspected from the get-go. Lindsay is treading on thin ice. I have a feeling we still haven’t seen her at her worst. Amazingly, she still has farther to fall before hitting bottom.

Maia Campbell Crack Video Surfaces

Wow. Maia Campbell was videotaped by some guys who were clearly amused by her cracked out behavior.

This video actually disturbed me! Maia is obviously cracked out of her head, sitting in a car, rambling on for over 6 minutes as a couple of men stick a video camera in front of her face, laughing at her, egging her on.

You probably don’t remember Maia, but she’s a 32 year-old actress who played the role of Tiffany Warren in the sitcom In the House. She also played Nicole on FOX’s series South Central, and she was Tupac Shakur’s cousin [updated] in the film Poetic Justice. Most currently she had a role in the film, Sorority Sister Slaughter, in 2007.

I can’t help but think it is so sad to see someone, anyone, in this condition. Especially someone who had so much going for them. I know people are going to be totally making fun of this on the web, but I don’t know, I felt dirty just watching it. Such hopelessness. I’m already terrified of dying young, man, I don’t like looking death in the eye. And when I’m looking at someone in that state of mind, I can’t help but see death.

Let’s hope Maia gets the help she seriously needs. Maybe this video being released will help with that somehow.
