Christian Bale has apologized for his verbal attack on crew member Shane Hurlbut while on the set of Terminator: Salvation.

The actor went into a rage after Hurburt distracted him while filming a scene. His rant was secretly taped by someone who later leaked it onto the internet, causing an uproar.

Bale decided he should probably apologize, so he called in to L.A.’s KROQ and did just that.

He admitted he “acted like a punk,” and said his tirade was “out of order beyond belief. I make no excuses for it.”

“The thing that disturbs me so much is that I’ve heard a lot of people saying that I seem to think that I’m better than anybody else. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am a very lucky and that is why I put so much into what I do, and why I care so much about it and why sometimes my enthusiasm just goes awry.”

Bale explained how he was “trying to convey” his character’s “madness” at the moment he got distracted. He said when he lost his temper that he was still mentally in character.

“I completely mixed up fact and fiction, I’m half John Connor, I’m half Christian there.”

The Batman actor went on to say that he would never have gotten Hurlbut fired, he was merely talking trash. He adds that the two have since reconciled and are on good terms.

He said, “I’ve not only talked with him, we have resolved this completely. That very day we kept working for a number of hours. And we worked together for at least a month after that. There is no problem whatsoever.”

Is this douchebag for real?

I am absolutely FLOORED after hearing this audio of Christian Bale tearing the director of photography a new a**hole  on the set of “Terminator Salvation,” after the director accidentally walked on the set, thus ruining the scene.

This incident was reported a few months back but the audio is just now being made public. It’s worse than you can imagine. Scary, actually. I mean, is this guy all hopped up on something? Sure sounds like it.

The poor director was subjected to a few minutes of Bale screaming, completely full of rage, spewing f-bombs and threatening to “trash his lights”.

Just listen, the tape speaks (or shrieks) for itself.

TMZ reports that, “film execs sent the tape to the insurance company that insured the film in case Bale bailed.”

Christian Bale’s mother and sister are claiming the Batman actor assaulted them at a hotel in London the night before the European premiere of ‘The Dark Knight’.

His mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, reported the incident to the police on Monday. Authorities decided to not question the actor until after the premiere of the blockbuster movie.

A source told The Sun, “It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don’t yet know is founded in truth. But Mr Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of anything that happened.”

A police spokesperson confirmed the reports, “We can confirm we have received allegation from another force in relation to an alleged incident in central London.”

Update from TMZ:  Bale turned himself into a London police station this morning (by appointment) and was arrested.  It’s merely procedure, and he has not been charged with anything at this point.

Bale once told E! Online, “If everyone really knew what a jerk I am in real life, I wouldn’t be so adored in the slightest.”
