She’s Every Woman!

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

No, seriously..I think a bunch of parts of other women were used to create this (what is rumored to be) upcoming album cover of Whitney Houston’s.

I have a hard time believing this is the real deal, but it is surely entertaining nonetheless.

Mariah Carey and Beyonce cannot even TOUCH this horrendous photoshop job!

They’re ROUGH! …Rough…Rough!

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

When I say that I love the 80s, trust me, these fools were not what, or who, I had in mind.

Even when I was a young, sweet and innocent teenager (heh) I had no love for boy bands. In fact, I can’t really think of any boy bands I went gaga over. It just wasn’t my thing. Maybe it was the love songs they sang while sounding like their nuts were in a vice, or maybe it was the corny ass choreography and cheesy lyrics.

Probably a combination of all three.

So really, I could have cared less when New Kids on the Block announced that they were going to reunite. Not only couldn’t I have cared, I was actually shocked! I thought, ‘Aren’t these guys embarrassed of their past? Don’t they remember how incredibly bad they sucked?!’ I would think they would have wanted to just leave that part of their professional careers alone and kinda sweep it under the rug.

But I guess somehow the millions of records they have sold has convinced them that they are actually good…heh.

Here they are now, in concert at Madison Square Garden.  Let’s make fun of them, shall we?

Donny Wahlberg!  Hey man, I loved you in Boogie Nights!

Oh, you have a brother? Ok, well, say hi to your mother for me..

Jordan Knight, a.k.a. The Bitter One.

He was always pissed that nobody cared about who he was after NKOTB faded away. Bet he is happy now. But once they disappear into the pop culture black hole again he’ll need to go back to his day job…impersonating Ricky Ricardo.

Joey McIntyre was the youngest . He’s a total bottom. I can tell. An adorable one, however..

Danny Wood, the one who looks like a flying monkey from Oz….with a faux hawk.

And finally, Jonathan Knight, the Gomer Pyle of the group…just give him a few more years & a few more pounds..

Britney Spears’ Documentary, ‘For the Record’ [Video]

Friday, October 10th, 2008

After a roller coaster year filled with hospitals, court dates and bad hair weaves, pop princess Britney Spears is ready for her real comeback.

With her new album Circus dropping on December 2nd, Britney is once again ready to take over the world.

In a new 90-minute documentary that will air on MTV, Britney will let fans in on her struggle back to the top. The special is tentatively called, ‘For the Record’, and will air on November 30th – two days before her album hits stores.

Spears made the following statement about the upcoming show,

“So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there’s a lot that people don’t know about me that I want them to know. I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.”

Britney will discuss both her personal and private life which include behind the scenes shots at this year’s VMAs and the video shoot for her next single, Womanizer. We also follow Brit as she hits the recording studio and heads to her hometown in Louisiana.

In the film Britney explains her state of mind earlier this year, “I’ve been through a lot, and there’s a lot people don’t know. Sometimes it can get lonely ’cause you don’t open the gate. I’m stuck in this place, and I just cope every day. I sit there and I look back. I’m a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?”

The documentary will air November 30th at 10PM on MTV.

Shannen Doherty’s Details Interview

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Details magazine sat down with former bad girl Shannen Doherty at a Malibu restaurant on the beach where they discussed everything from her ex-husband Rick Salmon to her 90210 comeback.

Here’s what she had to say.

On a Hawaiian shark-diving trip she took with friends:

“I couldn’t breathe, I started having an anxiety attack, I couldn’t stay out of their reach. They were slamming into the cage—they looked so frickin’ mean! My leg slipped a little through the bars, and a shark swam up against me and rubbed off a layer of my skin.

“I tell myself the least I can do is give the ocean back to the sharks,” Doherty says. And then she giggles. “No, that’s just a bullshit rationalization—I’m just terrified now.”

On her best known role, 90210’s Brenda Walsh:

“I don’t think Brenda was a complete brat. She was fueled by her insecurities: not being from Beverly Hills, not feeling safe in that environment. And then the love of her life was stolen from her. That can really injure a young girl’s esteem.”

On life in her 30s:

“I have a great life now. It’s really kind of boring.”

On her critics:

“I don’t spend any time on the Internet. I used to, but then I’d cry myself to sleep, thinking everyone in the world hates me. So I stopped. But when the news came that they were bringing back 90210, friends started e-mailing me stuff from fan sites that said Brenda had to be on the show. I can pay my mortgage and ride my horses because of those fans. This is how I can repay them.”

On her new role on 90210:

“I wouldn’t have done it if she was stuck in the same spot,” Doherty says. “There were moments when I hated Brenda, but there were other moments when I saw vulnerability and greatness in her, and believed her passion for life would make her a great actor—but not someone you would necessarily want to hang out with.”

On her ex-husband playboy Rick Salmon:

“I look at what he did [on the Paris Hilton sex tape] and think, God, that’s disgusting. But when we were married, I never had someone make me laugh so much. I was madly in love.”

MTV Keeps Mum on Britney and the VMAs

Monday, September 1st, 2008

Rumors are swirling that Britney Spears will be presenting an award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, but is another comeback performance secretly in the works?

Brit’s manager is denying reports that the pop princess will be performing on the show, but insiders are claiming that at the very least she will be one of this year’s presenters.

Although no one at MTV will peep a word about Britney and her supposed appearance, there’s been quite a commotion going on behind the scenes with top secret production and wardrobe preparations in the works.

Adding fuel to the rumors of a comeback performace, MTV has given Brit her own dressing room, a perk usually reserved for performers. She is also scheduled to appear at 944 Magazine’s MTV VMA pre-party on Wednesday.

Co-Stars Pissed That Tori Spelling Won’t Be on 90210

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

It just doesn’t seem right. How can there be a 90210 without Tori Spelling?

With Jennie Garth and Shannon Doherty set to bring the 90s Gen-X drama back, it seemed only obvious that Tori would be included. And at first, she was. That is until the CW network decided to pay Tori less that her co-stars.

Garth isn’t happy about it, and recently she vented to EW.com, telling them she wishes things could have worked out differently.

“They [the media] think we’re at war over salary with Tori. I didn’t know I was at war with Tori. I’m really bummed because I love Tori and I was psyched Tori was going to be on the show.

I think she should definitely get paid as much as either of us is getting paid. Her father created the show. It just seems wrong if that’s the case.

I don’t know what really happened because I haven’t talked to her. I would like to talk to her.”

As for Shannon Doherty, the ex-bad girl says that, she too, wishes Tori was involved in the production. She also insists reports of the women’s salary amounts are completely off. “They didn’t even get the numbers right, so I don’t know if it’s about the money either.”

Garth adds that it’s not too late to keep campaigning for her friend, “I’ll try to butt my head in whenever I can and tell people what I think about it.”

A CW spokesperson claims that there are no plans for Spelling to appear on the show.

Molly Ringwald on Her New Controversial Television Series

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

For those of us who grew up in the 80s Molly Ringwald was the leader of the Brat Pack.

Nowadays the actress is 40 years old and is set to rekindle her career with a new television drama.

ABC’s ‘Secret Life of the American Teenager’ stars Ringwald as the mother of a 15-year-old girl who became pregnant after a one night stand.

Ringwald spoke with AOL TV about her controversial role and her classic teen flicks of the 80s.

What made you decide to do a TV show?

I was thinking about moving to Los Angeles for personal reasons — my husband’s going to be attending a Stanford MBA program in the fall. So this series sort of came up, and I really liked Brenda [Hampton], the creator. She really wanted to have me in the show, and she was persuasive and I liked the subject matter, and it just kind of seemed like a cool thing to do.

Given the teen pregnancy pact scandal and the success of ‘Juno,’ your series is timely. Will the pregnancy plotline continue for the whole season?

It definitely starts out as the event that kicks off the show, but the show is about more than that. It has to be about more than that, because that story line is going to resolve itself. It really is sort of a sociological study of these teenagers and their families.

What other kinds of things happen to your character, Anne?

My character doesn’t find out [about her daughter's pregnancy] until episode 6, and the audience pretty much knows from the beginning, so there’s that suspense about when the family is going to find out. My character’s not clued in to what’s right in front of her. That has to do with her own life, and the decline of her marriage, and the fact that she’s really not happy with where she’s at in life.

Have you had input into your character?

Definitely. When the pilot was written, Brenda didn’t know that I was going to play Anne. Getting to know me and my strengths as an actor made the character evolve a certain way. I mean, she’s still different from me. But there are elements of me in Anne, and I definitely made her more liberal, because it’s really important to me that both sides are represented. Brenda’s totally supportive of that.

So will Amy explore all of her pregnancy options, no matter how controversial they may be?

Yes. I will say that Amy makes her own choice in terms of what she wants to do about her pregnancy. And it was very, very important to me that that was clear. Though I won’t tell you what [Amy's] choice is right now..

In the ’80s, you were the go-to teen actress. Is it weird to be playing the mom of a teenager now?

It is weird, but it’s kind of good, too. I’m an actor and I’ve done a lot of different stuff, but because those movies were so successful, it’s kind of stuck in people’s heads that I’m that figure. It’s good for me to be seen in a different light. I’m in a project with teenagers and I’m not the teenager, so I’ve come full circle in a way.

A couple of years ago there were rumors of a ‘Sixteen Candles’ sequel. Where does that stand now?

It was in the works. It was something that I definitely wanted to do, but [writer-director] John Hughes wasn’t interested, and I didn’t feel comfortable doing it without his involvement. If we can get John to agree, I think it would be great. I think there are definitely a lot of people who would love to see it, and I would love to do it.

Is ‘Sixteen Candles’ the only one of your teen movies you’d like to revisit?

I think so. I would ordinarily not want to do something like that, but I think that ‘Sixteen Candles’ lends itself to [a sequel]. I mean, ‘Breakfast Club,’ is just so perfect as is. I guess ‘Pretty in Pink’ is possible, but ‘Sixteen Candles’ is really the one … it was such a Cinderella story. And I was interested to see what happened to this girl.

Do you ever watch any of those movies when you come across them on TV?

I don’t really sit down and watch them. I mean, I’ve seen them so many times, you know? I think when my daughter’s old enough, I’ll probably watch them with her.
