Q & A With Dakota Fanning
Dakota Fanning isn’t a little girl anymore.
The gifted, highly intelligent teen is coming into her own. She was born with an amazing ability to act and she is taking it to new levels in her upcoming roles. In Push, the sci-fi thriller in theaters this weekend, she plays teenager who is much more street wise than the sweet actress we all know and love.
She says her character has a brief drunk scene and even carries a gun.
Fanning discusses growing up in life and in front of the camera, whether or not she will be taking on the role of a vampire in the sequel to Twilight, and meeting Britney Spears.
Q: This kid you play in Push is pretty out front and in your face, isn’t she?
A: My character is a true 14-year-old — kind of rebellious. She has a very sassy attitude and that was very fun to get to explore in this film. She says and does things that I never would.
Q: Sounds like we’d better get used to seeing you displaying a new persona in movies.
A: I can no longer doing Lucy in I Am Sam. You have to grow up and I am doing it through films. Most people haven’t seen me maybe as grown up as they will in Push. But eventually I’m probably going to play the person that you hate. I think that’s the fun part about acting.
Dakota Fanning, All Grown Up
Dakota Fanning poses for photos outside the “Late Show with David Letterman” studios.
Isn’t she a doll? She made an appearance on the show to promote her new films “Push” and “Coraline.”
I just cannot believe she is almost 15…more like 15 going on 30!
