Dennis Quaid flirts with a DUI

Dennis Quaid, wife & co. got a bit tipsy while dining at “Philippe by Philippe Chow”last night.

But despite their obvious buzz, they still plop into their car right in front of all the cameras. Then, as Dennis is about to pull away, police stop him and strongly suggest that he step out of the car and call a taxi. Of course Dennis obliged.

Ok, so first thing that pops into your head is, “Why didn’t they arrest him? They would have had it been me!” Well, I think I have a response to that. Even though I wasn’t there I can guarantee this is most likely the way is went down . . .

The paparazzi, noticing Dennis’ intoxication, see a police officer nearby. They tell the cop that Dennis is trashed, hoping to get the exclusive scoop on a Quaid DUI. Knowing the photographer’s intentions (it IS L.A.), and being as Quaid hadn’t taken off yet, the police give him an “out”.

Regardless of how it all happened, it’s a good thing it happened. Moron.

Dennis Quaid and his wife have settled with Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles after a mistake by hospital employees nearly took the lives of their infant twins last year.

A settlement of $750,000 has been reached in the case of the accidental overdose of Quaid’s children. The babies were accidentally given 1000 times the recommended dose of the blood thinner Heparin which left them in critical condition.

The drug’s manufacturer Baxter Healthcare Corp. is being sued by the couple who claims that it’s confusing labels led to the overdose.

They also claim that the company knew that there had been accidental deaths in the past due to this problem but yet failed to redesign the labels or recall the vials which hold a high concentration of the drug.

Dennis Quaid’s twins have fully recovered and are finally home with their parents once again.

Dennis and Kimberly’s attorney, Susan E. Loggans told People magazine, “The twins are back home. Their condition is fantastic, they’re smiling. Zoe looks like her mom, and Boone looks like his dad. They’ve fully recovered from the accident and it’s doubtful they’ll suffer long-term effects from the overdose.”

The babies were hospitalized at 12 days old on Nov. 20 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in LA after accidentally being given 1,000 times the recommended dose of Heparin on Nov. 18.

“The Quaids are very religious, and they believe their children’s recovery is a real miracle,” Loggans added.
