Travis Barker and DJ AM to Ring in the New Year with a Special Performance

Monday, December 1st, 2008

For their first performance together since the devastating Learjet crash in which they were the only survivors, Travis Barker and DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) will reunite for a show on New Years Eve.

The two friends are headlining New Year’s Nation’s Los Angeles New Year’s Eve Party at The Lot in West Hollywood.

In case you can’t make it, you can watch the streaming performance online. It will also be shown at numerous other New Year’s parties across the country.

I bet those two will have the time of their life that night. You can’t help but be inspired by those guys. And I think they are the perfect ones to ring in the new year!

Tragedy Brings DJ AM and Mandy Moore Back Together

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

Mandy Moore and DJ A.M. are officially a couple again!

A source claims DJ AM confirmed the romantic relationship saying, “It’s back on. Since the accident, it’s blossomed into something again.”

The couple have been inseparable as of late, and were spotted attending a luncheon together on October 18 in Beverly Hills. They were seen holding hands and lovingly rubbing each other’s backs.

The source continues,  “When you go through what Adam went through, you need people you love and people who love you. He will never stop loving her.”

Yay! I always thought these two were adorable together. They seem so down to earth, private and genuine. They are kind of like the polar opposite of Heidi and Spencer..

DJ AM Opens Up About the Plane Crash That Nearly Took His Life

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, spoke to People magazine recently, describing the horrific night that he and friend Travis Barker were almost killed in the infamous Learjet crash.

“I’ve prayed every night for the past 10 years. There’s a lot more to thank God for now. My philosophy is ‘live life to the fullest,’ (and) I was saved for a reason. Maybe I’m going to help someone else. I don’t question it. All I know is, I’m thankful I’m still here.”

Although Goldstein is more than grateful to be alive, he is mourning the loss of good friends and the pilots who were killed in the crash.

“My emotions go back and forth. At the first hospital, I screamed, ‘Thank you!’ Then I wondered, ‘Why did I live?’ I can’t believe I made it. Any second, it can all be gone.”

“I saw Travis running and flailing, trying to put out fire on his body. He screamed, ‘What do I do?’ and I said, ‘Roll!’ He did, but the fire didn’t go out,” AM continued. “He tried to rip his clothes off. I finally put the flames out by smothering him with my body. Some of my burns are from that. His sock was on fire - I burned my fingers taking it off.”

Now that’s friendship.

Goldstein’s treatment hasn’t been easy. He says at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, he wavered “in and out of consciousness.” Then after taking a bus back to California, he received skin grafts on his arm and neck at Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital.

“They shaved my head and took layers of skin from my scalp. To heal the wounds, I was in a hyperbaric chamber for 90 minutes twice daily for four days. It’s claustrophobic. One of my first nights home, I watched ‘Iron Man’ with friends. In the scene where Robert Downey Jr. comes out of the cave with a blowtorch, my whole body cringed. That night, I had a nightmare someone spilled fuel on me and was trying to light me on fire. I woke up and thought, ‘Oh my God, this is going to happen forever?’ ”

Adam knows he needs emotional therapy as well as physical, and is considering treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.

On Tuesday he attended a welcome home party, an event that raised money for Barker’s assistant, Chris “Lil Chris” Baker, and his bodyguard, Charles “Che.”

DJ AM Reveals Burns, Will DJ for Jay-Z

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Images: Daily Mail

DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) was snapped while running errands in Los Angeles recently, and in the photos you can see the extent of his injuries.

AM, who has vowed to never fly again (just like Travis Barker), was spotted with a shaved head and a very burned left arm. He suffered second and third degree burns after last month’s Learjet crash.

Goldstein is excited to return to the stage this week at the Hollywood Palladium - as Jay-Z’s DJ!

AM told People magazine,

“He’s the greatest rapper in the world. This is the biggest thing that’s happened in my career.”

Well, the plane crash didn’t exactly hurt his career. Quite the opposite, I think. I’m sure lots of opportunites and endorsements will follow. And good for him, he deserves it. I always liked AM.

DJ AM Attends Memorial Service for Chris Baker

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

DJ AM made his first public appearance Monday when he attended the memorial service for his friend Chris Baker who was killed in the tragic Learjet crash on September 20th.

He arrived in a green polo shirt, which was the color everyone was asked to wear to honor the memory of Baker, 29.

More than 300 people showed up to the service which lasted 2 hours. Baker was remembered by many who stood up to share their experiences.

Baker was Travis Barker’s “right hand man,” and Barker is said to be devastated at the loss of his good friend.  He was unable to attend services as he himself was just released from the hospital burn center.  He is heading back to Los Angeles as we speak - on a bus.

Baker is survived by his wife, Otillia Villar, and 2-year-old son, Sebastian.
