For awhile now rumors of a split between Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri have been swirling, but now we are hearing the news is official.

You may have noticed Jermaine did not attend the Michael Jackson funeral, because apparently he doesn’t do funerals. Or so says a friend.

The couple have been on a rocky road for quite sometime and sources are saying that they split after 7 years due to “mixing business with pleasure”. Who knows if that holds true or not, but I thought it odd that he didn’t at least support his gal during what is probably the most traumatic time in her life. That right there could have put her over the edge.

When people lose loved one it definitely puts a strain on relationships – especially ones that were suffering to begin with.

After my dad died in ‘98, the relationship I was in (also for 7 yrs) went down the drain almost immediately. Ironically, we broke up on my dad’s birthday, four months after his death.

Janet has her plate full right now and probably doesn’t even have time to even be in a relationship. Besides, I always though Janet could do better than Jermaine. I’m sure he’s a great guy and all, but he looks like a troll!

Hopefully Janet will find a good man one of these days. One who will support her and love her for who she is – not her stardom. She deserves it. As does everyone.

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri have been spotted out and about in New York this week. Here they are seen leaving the Waverly Inn.

We haven’t seen them around in ages. At least not since Jermaine publicly puked on Janet, she canceled her show and was supposedly sicker than Winehouse’s liver – or pregnant. Who knows, but she’s looking fine now – not all porked out like everyone was expecting (and some were secretly hoping for).

After last weeks tragic plane crash that killed four people and left Travis Barker and DJ AM badly burned, fans have been anxious to find out the condition of the surviving men.

Jermaine Dupri visited Barker in the hospital last Sunday and says his buddy is recovering nicely – both emotionally and physically.

“He’s doing good, he’s gonna be alright. He’s just got a lot of healing to do. He’s supposed to send a message out to everybody in a couple of days to let everybody know that he’s feeling better. He’s definitely feeling the love from everyone.”

Barker has been made more comfortable in a customized hospital room, where he can work and communicate with the outside world.

Dupri explains, “He’s just now getting everything in the hospital set up for him – iPods, computers, everything that he needs. You got to make sure he is comfortable.”

“I think everything will be cool when I get back there [to see him]. He’ll probably be up and talking crazy and all that – back to his old self.”

Jermaine Dupri has reportedly quit his job at Virgin Records after discouraging sales of his girlfriend Janet Jackson’s comeback album. Dupri was partially credited with relaunching Mimi’s career with the hit The Emancipation of Mimi, but his work on Jackson’s 20 YO has only half a million copies three weeks into its release. The CD also dropped a whopping 77% in sales its second week, prompting Dupri to step down from the company under pressure from management late last week. (Source)

She also spoke of meeting little David’s father, and said that he thanked her. “I sat in that room, I looked into that man’s eyes,” she said. Madonna said she was worried that the negative publicity that surrounded her adoption may dissuade other people from adopting children in Africa. “I wanted to go into a Third World country, I wasn’t sure where, and give a life to a child who might not otherwise have had one..I’m disappointed because more than anything it discourages other people from doing the same thing..I feel the media is doing a great disservice to all the orphans of Africa, period, not just the orphans of Malawi.” She also added, “David is amazing..what really surprises me is how great my children are with him and how he’s transitioned so easily from living in Africa in an orphanage to living in our house.” (source)
