Since Jesica Simpson and Tony Romo have been dating, the public has been all up in their business.

Is she a curse to Romo’s team, the Dallas Cowboys? Is Papa Joe controlling the relationship?

However, the couple say they have allowed none of that negativity into their lives and insist they are stronger than their haters.

For the first time, Tony Romo opens up about Jessica and their relationship in the June issue of Vanity Fair, where Jessica graces the cover. He shows his admiration and love for Jessica without being sappy or looking p-whipped.

He says, “We’re very similar in that we both appreciate the hometown feel to a lot of things, and live our life like that. She comes to a ton of games. She’s a supportive girlfriend.”

Once the football season is over, Romo says he and Jess jut like to kick back, chill and enjoy each other. “A lot of people head to Vegas, go back to their hometowns, colleges, and stuff. I was just like, ‘Let’s rent a house and sit around and watch football.’ It seemed like a good decision. But when you’re in the public eye, things can be perceived differently.”

“You know, it’s very hard when you lose, because games are important, and so many people put so much time and effort in. It’s nice to have someone to come home to and try and make you feel better.”

Simpson chimes in,  “That’s how the story goes. Can’t help it. But we don’t let it affect our relationship. If we did, we wouldn’t be together, because it happened at the very beginning. Dating the Cowboys quarterback comes with hype, the fans, the bloggers, but I’ve never dated a guy that was more simple. I’m always there for him after a game, and he knows he has me to come home to.”

Would you watch a television sitcom starring Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears?

Jessica is hopeful that you would.

Rumor has it that Simpson has approached Spears with the idea that the two star in a sort of Lavern & Shirley style comedy. Spears is currently on tour and doesn’t have time to pursue the idea, but she hasn’t turned it down either.

A source says, “Britney seems genuinely interested in working with her. She’s said they’ll talk further when she finishes her Circus tour. And Jessica wants to prove to the world that she’s a talented, funny actress, not just some silly airhead.”

I admit, I would probably have to watch this if it actually materialized, but I don’t see it happening!

“Call me crazy, but when I saw the picture, I was like, ‘Oh my God, Jessica looks hot!’ I love curves. Being super skinny just isn’t attractive to me. When I saw that picture, I knew everyone was going to say something. And I thought, ‘You know what? Leave Jessica alone!’ She’s fabulous, she’s a really sweet girl, and I admire her for putting up with it. I get that she does look curvier, but to me, there’s nothing wrong with it.”

Ashlee Simpson (like a lot of celebrities lately) is lashing out at gossip bloggers for saying her sister has gained weight.

She rants,

I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.
All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.
Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend?
I seriously doubt it.
How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure?
Now can we focus on the things that really matter.

Well, Ashlee, this is nothing new in the business, but I’m not saying that it’s right. What I am saying is that you, your sister and your daddy all know how the industry works. And if you gain a little weight, you’re going to hear about it. Welcome to Hollywood.

Tell me Ashlee, how is it that we can expect teenaged girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where so many young women feel it’s necessary to get plastic surgery on their face at a young age? Oh yeah, it goes back to what I said before.

I didn’t get around to posting this yesterday, but did you see the Peggy Bundy ensemble that Jessica Simpson wore to some chili cookoff concert in Florida last weekend?

The entire outfit was wrong, wrong, wrong! Those 70s style mom jeans were too highwaisted for someone with curves like hers. And her shoulders were left out in the open making her look like a lineman!

“[Paris Hilton] came up to me in a nightclub a couple of months back and she said, ‘I hope you realize that the person I seem to be in the press is really just an act and the real me is really smart.’ I said, ‘Just get over it. The song was like years ago. Quit bugging me.’

I still take a pop at Jessica Simpson in my new video. That girl hates me. But it’s just that her name happens to be a good rhyme fit for lots of lyrics… and, of course, she’s like, Jesssicaaa Simpson. Those girls are something else. There’s part of me that thinks they’re such losers, but there’s also a part of me that admires how they actually play the game. I’m so bad at playing the Hollywood game. I just hate all that fake stuff.”
