As Jett Travolta’s Birthday Nears, Friends Say Parents are Healing

Friends closest to John Travolta and Kelly Preston say that the couple are slowly beginning to emerge from the shock of losing their only son, Jett.

The Travolta family celebrated daughter Ella Bleu’s 9th birthday on April 3rd. It was her first birthday without her brother. Friends who attended the party say that the Travoltas are struggling to move on but are leaning heavily on one another now more than ever.

Olivia Newton-John said of close friend John, “John is a strong man, but we want to leave him in peace. To lose a loved one – it’s the worst time in anyone’s life.”

Another family friend says the Travolta’s are learning to cope. “They aren’t secluding themselves or paralyzed. [Seeing them] was like old times. Nothing awkward and no topics to dance around. There were smiles.”

Actress and close friend Leah Remini also spoke about the family, lending her support. “How do you deal with the greatest tragedy in your life?” she said. “I can tell you that they are handling it the best any parent could ever deal.”

Jett’s 17th birthday would have been April 13th.

I feel for them on this day. Birthdays are the worst after someone has died. Especially the first one.

Grieving parents John Travolta, 54, and Kelly Preston, 46, have issued a public statement regarding the tragic death of their son, Jett, 16.

“We would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone who has sent their love and condolences. Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered. We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time we had with him for the rest of our lives. We have received many messages of condolence from around the world and we want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. It has meant so much to us. It is a beautiful reminder of the inherent goodness in the human spirit that gives us a hope for a brighter future.”

Jett was discovered in a bathroom at the vacation home of the family. He had a seizure and hit his head on a bathtub.

More details, or should I say, speculation, has surfaced, but until anything is made official, out of the respect for the family, I won’t be commenting.

My thoughts are with the family.

It was a very sad week for the families of two celebrities, John Travolta and Mia Farrow, who both had a child pass away during the holiday season.

John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s 16-year-old son died in a freak accident Friday while the family vacationed in the Bahamas.

Jett Travolta hit his head in the bathtub after suffering a seizure while at his family’s vacation home. He was immediately transported to Rand Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He had a history of seizures and was diagnosed with Kawasaki’s disease, an illness that leads to inflamed blood vessels in young children, when he was 2.

Jett, is the couple’s only son. They have a daughter, Ella Bleu, 8.

Christmas Day will probably never be the same for Mia Farrow. Her adopted daughter, Lark Previn, died

on the holiday, at the age of 35.

She had been adopted from Vietnam by Farrow and ex-husband Andre Previn in 1973.

Previn had been ill for a decade but the cause of her death has not been made public.

Previn had two daughters Sara, 13, and Christine, 12.

A memorial was held Monday night in Brooklyn.

For those of you who grew up in the 70s this will come as no surprise because you actually remember it. Don’t think thirty years can erase something like this from your memory..

A lot of celebrities have been asked about the untimely death of Heath Ledger and the responses have ranged from grief to admiration.

But I heard one person say something tonight and I thought, “Oh Gawd, that is such a Hollywood thing to say!”

The celebrity was John Travolta. And although he said a lot of nice things about Ledger, one thing he said was completely laughable. Not ‘funny’ laughable, but as in he should be embarrassed.

Travolta said so graciously,

“I would give back all my awards and all my nominations just to have him back.”

How noble of you, John!

It really sheds light on what a pompous moron you are. All of your awards AND nominations? Wow, that’s really saying something by Hollywoods standards, but to the rest of us it sounds like you need to take your head out of your ass.

Oh my GOSH, I LOVE Lynn and Alex over at LA Rag Mag!

If you weren’t listening to Adam Carolla this morning, you should have been! As some of you know, Adam and coffee go hand in hand with me in the morning. Anyhow, the boys were on the show this morning dishing some goods, when the subject of John Travolta came up.

Apparently the boys ran into Mr. Hetero Husband at a Korean spa, a place where gay men hang…literally! They added that there was NO way a straight guy would ever confuse the place for anything else! Here’s what unfolded..

Oh, and it’s good…

There’s a junkie Korean spa in Koreatown called Century Spa that no one knows about so it’s cheap and fantastic. It’s also a place that’s been overrun by a slew of gay men cruising for dick in the steam room and clay room.

When we went to get Lynn a body scrub and massage the two Korean women behind the counter were unusually giddy.

“You will never believe who here!”

“Who?” We asked eyes raised.

“Mr. John Travolta!” They exclaimed, exploding into giggles.

Now, why in the name of Liberace, would John Travolta be miles from his home in Korea Town at a men’s spa. For their amazing service? The gorgeous showers with broken tiles?

Once we saw John we instantly ran to our locker to try and take a picture of him, but it didn’t work so we have no proof. But we are telling you straight up our experience.

This was the wrong thing to do, and we realize that now. We should have flirted with him until he laid his hands on us and we could’ve said, “Dude, I liked you in Hairspray and all, but I’m not like that!”

That would’ve been more hilarious than him in a fat suit.

John, look, no one goes to a Korean Spa unless they WANT to get caught. Stories about you cruising in the steam room have surfaced before so it’s not a surprise.If you come out as gay, then that just makes you that much better of an actor. You fooled the American public for years, and usually you have to be the president to do that.

Nicole Travolta, niece of John Travolta, appeared on E!’s plastic surgery reality show, Dr 90210, for a breast enhancement and lift.

Nicole is 20 years old and of course, has a MySpace page. Why not become her friend and ask her how her new tits are doing. Her friends seem pretty impressed that she was on the show and they’re leaving comments.

“So.. I am watching the girls next door and a commercial comes on for Dr. 90210.. I am looking at this girl on TV and I’m like ohhh.. that kinda looks like Nicole.. then I heard you talk and I was like OMG it is Nicole hahaha! I’m so excited to see you on TV LOL =) I hope you are not getting a boob job! You have always had great boobies! haha guess I’ll find out tonight! =) haha”
