Lil Wayne will serve time in jail

Rapper Lil Wayne, a.k.a. Weezy, will serve a year in jail after pleading guilty to attempted weapons possession.

The charges stem from a 2007 incident when officers in New York City raided his tour bus and found a loaded .40-caliber pistol on board. He was originally arrested on one count of criminal weapons possession and one count of criminal possession of a loaded weapon, which carries a much harsher penalty.

The judge is allowing Lil Wayne to remain free on his $30,000 bond but asked that he surrender his passport in the meantime. Sentencing is in February, and that’s when Lil Wayne will most likely start serving his term. He is expected to serve 8 of the 12 months.

After a website posted a fake BBC report stating that Lil’ Wayne had been shot to death this weekend, the rumor spread across the internet like crazy.

However, it is NOT true. The rapper is alive and well.

It seems as though someone is out to get Weezy. Just a few months ago, a similar rumor about Lil’ Wane’s daughter popped up on the internet and proved to be false.
