Marilyn Monroe would have been 83-years-old today if she were alive.

New photos of the the glamorous actress have surfaced just in time for her birthday.

A collection by photographer Ed Clark has been discovered by Life magazine and has been published for the first time. The photos were said to have been taken in 1950 at L.A.’s Griffith Park – when Monroe was only 24.

Ed Clark once said of capturing Marilyn on film:  “She was unknown then, so I was able to spend a lot of time shooting her. We’d go out to Griffith Park and she’d read poetry. I sent several rolls to Life in New York, but they wired back, ‘Who the hell is Marilyn Monroe?’”

Photos from Ben Stern’s 1962 collection of Marilyn Monroe were auctioned off at Christie’s auction house on Tuesday.

The photos were taken for Vogue magazine. The actress died later that year due to a supposed drug overdose.

The collection of 36 photos were sold for $146,500. Pre-sale estimates were predicted to be anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000.

It was the last professional photo shoot the actress would do before her death. The pictures ran in Vogue later that year as a memorial.

One of the extras on the set of the 1961 movie The Misfits was lucky enough to take some great footage behind the scenes with Hollywood legends Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe.

The film is up for auction on June 21st at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. It’s appraised as a collectible at $40,000.

After the recent photo shoot in New York magazine where Lindsay attempted to recreate Marilyn’s, ‘The Last Sitting’, Hugh Hefner now wants firecrotch to recreate Monroe’s famous naked swim in an upcoming issue of Playboy.

Liz Smith writes in the New York Post, “Playboy’s Hugh Hefner has offered the young star the chance to re-create Marilyn’s famed nude swim from the unfinished film ‘Something’s Got To Give.’”

What Hef should have done was rival LL’s New York magazine shoot with that of a classier, sexier, curvier starlet, like Scarlett Johansson or something. Someone who could actually pull it off!

He could have caused a little controversy by doing it better than Lohan. But using Lohan to pose as Mariyn again? How boring. It’s been done. C’mon Hef, I thought you were quicker than that.

Lindsay Lohan attempted to channel the late Marilyn Monroe’s famous “The Last Sitting” photo shoot by posing nude for New York magazine’s Spring issue.

In my opinion, Lindsay just looks like a blonde haired freckled Lohan wishing she were the supreme sex goddess of our time.

Lohan, 21, does look as old as Marilyn, 36, in the pics though. I will give her that..

After the death of Anna Nicole Smith the media has gone crazy coming up with similarities of her and Marilyn Monroe.

Now there is a new starlet following in the footsteps of Ms. Monroe.

Lindsay Lohan reportedly just bought the curvaceous bombshell’s old two bedroom apartment in Los Angeles. She will be moving in once her rehab treatment is completed.

Lindsay says that she has long admired Monroe, and tries to be like her whenever she can.

“I wanted to do what Marilyn Monroe did (during the Korean War), when she went and just set up a stage and did a concert for the troops all by herself. It’s so amazing seeing that one woman just going somewhere, this beautiful sex kitten, who’s basically a pinup, which is what I’ve always aspired to be.”
