Afternoon Briefs- A little afternoon delight never hurt anyone..

Heather Mills says she has received many death threats in recent months and that she fears for her life. She adds that she is cannot afford bodyguards to protect her. Mills has said she is “severely upset and severely depressed” over her recent split with Paul, but said her personal trainer, Ben Amigoni, has been a big help. And not in a funny sort of way..

According to People Magazine, Prince William may be getting ready to ask his girlfriend, Kate Middleton to marry him.
Kate has been invited to the Queen’s country retreat to spend Christmas with the royal family. This is considered to be quite the honor. They have been together for five years, and met at a Scottish university as students.

Michael Richards plans to meet with the four African American men he went off on during his racist tirade.
The men and their lawyer, Gloria Allred, met with reporters in LA today to announce the meeting.
Richards is expected to offer an apology for the incident, and will likely pay a settlement. The meeting will be held after the first of the year.
An unnamed judge is expected to suggest after mediating the meeting what further steps Richards should take to make amends.
Kyle Doss, one of the men at the club, said he was “very hurt by what happened at the Laugh Factory”, and wants to let Richards know “how his words made us feel.”
Meanwhile bandwagon jumper & owner of The Laugh Factory, Jamie Masada, has banned Richards from performing there again. This, even though before all the media attention, and after the incident, Masada allowed Richards to perform the following night.

George Clooney says he shared a “brutal night” of drinking with Danny DeVito the night before DeVito’s appearance on “The View.” Matt Lauer interviewed Clooney, who said that it was possible that DeVito was “still drunk”that morning after a night of Limoncello shots.
“We were doing shots of limoncello and that’s all I have to say about it…I got to the point where I was dumping shots into the plant next to me. I don’t think Danny saw me do that.”
Way to play clean-up crew George.

Laugh Factory Wants Michael Richards to Pay $1M Per Slur

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

You ARE kidding me right? This is the SAME LAUGH FACTORY who allowed Michael Richards to perform the NIGHT AFTER the incident? Hmm…

From IMDB-

“Bosses at the Los Angeles comedy club where former Seinfeld star Michael Richards shocked fans with a racist rant have demanded the comedian pay $1 million to charity for every one of the ‘N’ words he used on stage. Richards has been banned from The Laugh Factory for repeatedly calling two African-American hecklers “n**gers” during a foul-mouthed rant onstage there earlier this month. The comedy club bosses now want him to pay for his ill-advised remarks. The comedian has publicly apologized for his comments and appeared on African-American civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson’s radio show Keep Hope Alive on Sunday in an effort to make amends. But, according to TV news show The Insider, The Laugh Factory owners, who have now banned the ‘N’ word from the venue, want Richards to pay $6 million to charity for the six derogatory words he used on their stage. Richards, who claims to be seeing a psychiatrist in an effort to control his rage problems, is hoping to meet with the two African-Americans he racially abused from The Laugh Factory stage. “

Oh gee, afraid someone might point the finger at you guys for failing to cancel the Saturday night show?
You bet you are.

Rev. Jesse Jackson Calling to Ban ‘N’ Word

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

I’m sorry, but someone should have done this a long time ago.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson is calling on the entertainment industry to stop using the ‘N’ word.

This comes after last weeks crazy rampage that Michael Richards went into in LA during a performance. He screamed the word repeatedly in an uncontrollable fit aimed at the Afro-American hecklers in the audience.

Jackson plans on meeting with television networks, film companies and musicians to talk about ‘the word’. Jackson is also asking that people not buy the DVD box set of the 7th season of “Seinfeld.”

Now that’s the part I don’t get. Why drag the rest of the Seinfeld cast into this? They didn’t do it. But as for not using the word in let’s just say, rap, as slang, I think, is a good thing.

Afternoon Briefs - Your Guilty Pleasure

Tawny Kitaen, 45, 1980s rock video vixen and more recently reality star of VH1’s The Surreal Life was charged Tuesday with possessing 15 grams of cocaine. Prosecutors said Kitaen faces up to three years in prison if convicted on the single count of possessing a controlled substance. (Suspended if she is found eligible for a drug diversion program and rehabilitation)
Police were called to her San Juan Capistrano, CA home in May for a child welfare check. She agreed to a search of her home and that’s when the police came across the cocaine. Apparently she did not appear to be under the influence at the time. Her arraignment is set for December 18th.

Kyle Doss, one of the men who Michael Richards targeted during an onstage rampage, told NBC’s ‘Today’ that he thinks that Richards only apologized due to the outburst being on video.
Richards has since apologized to the Reverends Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton. Sharpton spoke out about the incident saying,
“Before any apology should even be considered, Michael Richards should apologize to the people to whom his remarks were directed and most offended. In all due respect to David Letterman, it seems strange that one would insult African Americans in a long tirade and then go on a white television show with a mostly white studio and viewing audience to make a statement of apology. If Mr. Richards has something to say, he should say it to us, and let us respond to him. Mr. Letterman, who is a fine gentleman, is in no position to discuss whether his apology should be accepted or rejected.”
Meanwhile, Jamie Foxx has threatened Richards with bodily harm if the two ever cross paths..

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are cruising Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike. Few people recognize them in Viet Nam so you can guess why they would chose to relax there. The overrated power couple have been taking a break from filming ‘A Mighty Heart’ in India, and most likely a break from the mobs of people and publicity.

Leading Kazakh writer, Sapabek Asip-uly, has nominated actor Sacha Baron Cohen for a national award for popularizing Kazakhstan . Asip-uly says that Borat “has managed to spark an immense interest of the whole world in Kazakhstan, something our authorities could not do during the years of independence.” He also stated, “If state officials completely lack a sense of humor, their country becomes a laughing stock,” referring to Russia’s banning of the movie.

Kevin Federline has reportedly been offered almost $300K to appear on Britain’s hot reality show, “Celebrity Big Brother”.
“Kevin is hugely entertaining because he takes himself really seriously, even though no one else does. He’ll be great for the show because it’ll about larger-than-life characters,” an insider reportedly told The Sun.

Michael Richard’s Apology

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Michael Richards apologized via satellite on Letterman last night, as Jerry Seinfeld was a guest on the show.

The audience at Letterman had to have been a bunch of vacationers in NY who hadn’t watched the news (or read a Celebrity Gossip Blog) because they were laughing through parts of the apology, when it clearly was not funny.

Jerry Seinfeld even asked the audience to “stop laughing, it’s not funny..”

The laughter continued as Michael Richards apologized. They couldn’t tell the difference between an actual apology and the Seinfeld character, Kramer.

“You know I hear your audience laugh, and it’s uh..,” Richards said. “..and I’m not even sure that this is…uh…where I should be addressing the situation..I’ve already heard you make some jokes about it and that’s ok..but I’m really busted up over this.”

Watch the entire apology for yourself. Do you think he is genuine?

Michael Richards (Kramer) to Offer Apology on Letterman Tonight

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Sent to us from CBS:

In an interview to be broadcast tonight, Monday, Nov. 20, on the Late Show with David Letterman, comedian Michael Richards offers an explanation and apology for the racial comments he made this weekend during a stand-up routine at a Los Angeles comedy club.

Richards was featured via satellite from Los Angeles during an interview with scheduled guest Jerry Seinfeld, who asked Richards, his former “Seinfeld” co-star, to appear on the CBS late night broadcast. The following is an excerpt from Richards’ interview:

Letterman: “Why don’t you explain exactly what happened for the folks who may not know.”

Richards: “I lost my temper on stage. I was at a comedy club trying to do my act and I got heckled and I took it badly and went into a rage and said some pretty nasty things to some Afro-Americans, a lot of trash talk, and uh…”

Letterman: “And you were actually being heckled or were they just talking and disturbing the act?”

Richards: “That was going on too.”

* *

Richards: “…You know, I’m really busted up over this and I’m very, very sorry to those people in the audience, the blacks, the Hispanics, whites – everyone that was there that took the brunt of that anger and hate and rage and how it came through, and I’m concerned about more hate and more rage and more anger coming through, not just towards me but towards a black/white conflict. There’s a great deal of disturbance in this country and how black feel about what happened in Katrina, and, you know, many of the comics, many of performers are in Las Vegas and New Orleans trying to raise money for what happened there, and for this to happen, for me to be in a comedy club and flip out and say this crap, you know, I’m deeply, deeply sorry. And I’ll get to the force field of this hostility, why it’s there, why the rage is in any of us, why the trash takes place, whether or not it’s between me and a couple of hecklers in the audience or between this country and another nation, the rage – “

Letterman: “But Michael, let me interrupt here for a second and ask a question about had the people doing the heckling or the people who were not paying attention, had they been white or Caucasian or any other race, what would have been the nature of your response then?”

Richards: “It may have happened. It may have happened. You know, I’m a performer. I push the envelope, I work in a very uncontrolled manner onstage. I do a lot of free association, it’s spontaneous, I go into character. I don’t know, in view of the situation and the act going where it was going, I don’t know, the rage did go all over the place. It went to everybody in the room. But you can’t – you know it’s, I don’t – I know people could, blacks could feel – I’m not a racist, that’s what so insane about this, and yet it’s said, it comes through, it fires out of me and even now in the passion that’s here as I confront myself.”

The full interview with Seinfeld and Richards will be broadcast on the LATE SHOW tonight (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Seinfeld’s ‘Kramer’ Loses Control & Spews Racial Slurs at Comedy Club

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Wow.

If this isn’t career suicide I don’t know what is. All I can think is mofo had to be higher than a freaking kite when this happened. Oh wait, the excuse will be that he was drunk..right?

Regardless, this has got to be the WORST racial tirade I have EVER witnessed. My jaw is STILL on the floor.

Man, and I loved Kramer..

Mel Gibson ain’t got shizzle on Kramer.

I’ll warn you, this is brutal. I literally felt sick while watching this.

Exclusively from TMZ.com -

Michael Richards exploded in anger as he performed at a famous L.A. comedy club last Friday, hurling racial epithets that left the crowd gasping, and TMZ has obtained exclusive video of the ugly incident.

Richards, who played the wacky Cosmo Kramer on the hit TV show “Seinfeld,” appeared onstage at the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood.

It appears two guys, both African-American, were in the cheap seats playfully heckling Richards when suddenly, the comedian lost it.

The camera started rolling just as Richards began his attack, screaming at one of the men, “Fifty years ago we’d have you upside down with a f***ing fork up your ass.”

Richards continued, “You can talk, you can talk, you’re brave now motherf**ker. Throw his ass out. He’s a ni**er! He’s a ni**er! He’s a ni**er! A ni**er, look, there’s a ni**er!”

The crowd is visibly and audibly confused and upset. Richards responds by saying, “They’re going to arrest me for calling a black man a ni**er.”

One of the men who was the object of Richard’s tirade was outraged, shouting back “That’’s un-f***ing called for, ain’t necessary.”

After the three minute tirade, it appears the majority of the audience members got up and left in disgust.

Attempts to reach Richard’s reps were unsuccessful.”
