Twilight fans in Forks, Washington
As some of you already know, I was asked to film a short piece for an upcoming show, “In the House” which debuts on the Encore/Starz channel on December 3rd. It will air internationally!
Myself, along with a group of other bloggers, were chosen to take part in the show, which revolves around movies, directors and basically anything to do with film.
Each week we will all submit a story to the producers, and depending on our stories and what the producers like, a couple/few will be chosen to air on the show each week. This week, the first of many, we were asked to come up with a short piece on the Twilight phenomenon. Being as I reside in Washington State, I figured my best take on it would be to discuss the small town of Forks, WA, where many of the Twilight landmarks are. I read my story to producers via SKYPE and they loved it. The executive producer asked that I actually go to Forks and videotape each location of interest. So I hooked up with a GREAT friend, Lucy, (who operated the video camera and directed) and we set off for a long day of driving through the Olympic National forest, drinking coffee and chatting throughout the 4+ hour drive (one way).

Now, I doubt many of you know this, but Forks is one of the rainiest places in the country. It gets a whopping 119.06 inches of rain per year, and I swear, we got the 9.06 just during the time we were there! So forget my hairdo, that went out the window almost immediately. Heh.
Once we got there we were like kids in a candy store. Going from one attraction to the next, hauling our umbrellas and cameras and trying (unsuccessfully) to dodge the rain. But the weather didn’t dampen our spirits, we laughed as we went along, joking about our amateur skills.
All in all, it was an incredibly fun adventure, and although producers say they want the footage for the premiere show (woot!) nothing is 100% until it actually happens. But I am hopeful. Of course I’ll keep you “in the know”!

The story of a possessed tiki doll that goes on a murderous rampage. As a child this was some scary sh*t! For years I worried about the little bastard hiding under my bed and cutting my Achilles tendon when I wasn’t paying attention.

There are so many fabulous lines from this flick, but I think the best ones are probably in this three-and-a-half minute clip. All spoken by Mike Meyers as he plays his Scottish father, Stuart.
“If it’s not Scottish, it’s CRAP!” I’m sure you have heard that line before, but my personal favorite is the reference to William’s head.
“Look at the size of that boy’s head. I’m not kiddin’ it’s like an orange on a toothpick . . . that’s a huge noggin’! That’s a virtual planetoid. Has it’s own weather system. I’m not kidding, that boy’s head is like Sputnik. Spherical but quite pointy at parts. Now that was offside, wasn’t it? He’ll be crying himself to sleep tonight, on his huge pillow.”
Awhh, Mike Meyers, bring your old school humor back!
The premiere was for a movie called “Heart of the Desert”, which appeared to star Samantha’s (Kim Cattrall) boyfriend Smith (Jason Lewis). SATC designer Patricia Field said the dresses were by Matthew Williamson.

Zombieland Cameo Revealed
Whomever the person is makes quite a splash. According to /Film, “This cameo is worth the price of admission alone.”
I love zombie films. I grew up watching Dawn of the Dead over and over on my Betamax! Since marrying my hubby, I never get to watch horror flicks anymore. He doesn’t like them. So when he is out of town, it’s what I splurge on. After a long hiatus I am back to watching blood and gore. Hell, all I watched in the 80’s were horror flicks (and John Hughes films of course). And when I wasn’t watching scary movies I was reading scary books. I think I read Helter Skelter when I was 9! Seriously, no wonder I had nightmares as a kid!
Zombieland stars Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone. If you are interested in learning who plays the cameo, find out after the cut. Don’t do it if you don’t want to know..

Oh boy. Once again Hollywood thinks that since the theatrics are so much better these days that if they remake a classic it’ll instantly be better, more exciting. But as we all know, this is rarely the case.
And besides, what is A Nightmare on Elm Street without the real Freddy Kruger, Robert Englund? That’s like having a Rocky film without Sylvester Stallone.
Pfft. I’m not impressed.
Seeing this trailer made me actually want to see Twilight. You heard me right, I have yet to see it! I know, I know..
Carrie Bradshaw looks fab in the flowing blue dress, but dear lawd! That’s 80s getup is dreadful. The hair and makeup more so than the actual outfit itself. She looks like Glenn Close straight out of “Fatal Attraction”!
