The late Patrick Swayze’s wife, Lisa Niemii, will be appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show, just a month-and-a-half after her husband’s death.
It’s sure to be a tearjerker.
Niemi, 53, was married to Patrick Swayze for 34-years. Almost my lifetime. I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like for her – and how she will talk about it so soon. Oprah is known for her compassion and I’m sure will make it comfortable for Lisa to share her experience and loss. But still, it is so soon..
“When the grief takes you, it’s like your body is not your own. I’m just going with the flow. I know I have to go through it.
“I have a few girlfriends that are just amazing. They have made themselves available to me 24/7. They say, ‘We don’t care if it’s two in the morning, call me.’
“I was in the middle of a full-blown panic attack one evening, and I picked up the phone and called one, which is really hard for me to do because I’m used to being so self-sufficient and taking care of myself, but the very act of picking the phone up to call someone helped to calm me.”
I truly feel for her. Grief is a powerful thing.
Swayze, 57, died of pancreatic cancer on September 14th. He was just 57.

Mike Tyson opened up to Oprah Winfrey in an exclusive interview, which, in my opinion, was long overdue.
Iron Mike, as he was once called, talked about his youth, the many controversies surrounding his past and the death of his daughter.
Mike recalls being bullied as a kid and spoke of one instance where a group of boys killed a pigeon of his by ripping it’s head off in front of him. He says that someone yelled, “Mike, fight him!” And that was the turning point in his life. He realized if he fought, he wouldn’t be considered a target anymore. He says that fight gave him the confidence to “fight back.”
Oprah then reads Mike a quote of his, where, after watching a film made about his life, Tyson, he said he understood why the public saw him as a monster.
“Then when I watched the movie I get it. For the first time I get it. I’m watching as a human being that’s very rational now. I say, this guy’s so unpredictable, you don’t know whether he is going to take you out to lunch or stab you with a fork.”
He explained:
“I took a chance to become more objective. I never became more objective with myself and then I watched myself, when I watched the film and . . . that guy would make me nervous if I was in a room alone with him.”
“You scared people,” Oprah says. “I scared myself,” says the champ. “That was a scary guy.”
Tyson lost his mother at age 16. He never knew his father. But he did have a mentor, a trainer and a father figure, all in one man. Cus D’Amato. As Tyson remembers D’Amato, he is obviously shaken. He gets choked up and teary-eyed. Obviously D’Amato was the father he never had.
“I did everything he told me to do, and I won.I won every championship. Amateur championship[s], all the championship[s] . . . I’m going to cry . . . so, I won every championship, that he told me, because he told me what to do. And I started believing in this old man.”
D’Amato died in 1985. Mike says after his death he lost his desire to fight and began drinking and drugging. He felt lost and was not prepared for the loss. By this point in the interview Mike can barely speak he is so overcome with emotion. His love for D’Amato is painfully obvious. It tugged at my heart to see him so fragile and vulnerable. We caught a glimpse at the child inside Tyson.
Speaking of children, Mike also had a very hard time talking about his daughter, Exodus. He says he still isn’t sure what happened to her the day she lost her life after an exercise machine mishap. And he doesn’t want to know. Because, he says, he doesn’t want to have someone to blame.
As for his marriage to Robin Givens, Tyson says that his ex-wife lied to Barbara Walters during their infamous interview in 1988. He says he was too stunned to say anything at the time, something that he deeply regrets. But also, he says, if he would have reacted, it would have been “what they wanted.”
Tyson then spoke of Evander Holyfield and the ear incident. He says he bit his opponent’s ear because he was angry at him for butting his head repeatedly during the fight. He says he just snapped. “I was pissed off he was such a great fighter, too,” he adds. He felt no remorse for what he did and says his initial apology to Holyfield was insincere. Oprah asks if he has seen Holyfield in recent times. He says, “I’ve seen him sometimes – and he’s a little leary of me.” Tyson insists though, that he wants to sincerely apologize now, and shake his hand.
These days Tyson says that he is “tired of failing” and knows how much he has to lose. He is happy in his marriage, has a new baby and 6 other children that he says are his everything. Reflecting on his past he says: “I realize I was going to die . . . I’m just so embarrassed, I’m so embarrassed.”
As many of you know, I met Iron Mike by coincidence, at the Las Vegas airport in 2003, and the Mike that I met was the Mike on Oprah. He was polite, soft spoken and a gentleman. We chatted for a few minutes about his new tattoo and the significance of tattoos. When I tell people about our chat they often respond with, “And you still have both ears?!” or a simply a look of disgust. But I didn’t meet the out of control Tyson. I met the kinder, gentler one.
Mike has matured emotionally in his older age, but also, life has worn him down a bit. I find him to be fascinating, and have since the late 80s when he was just coming up. This was an absolutely classic interview. It was so refreshing to see Mike as a human being and not the unpredictable menace that he once was.
MacKenzie Phillips, daughter of John Phillips and former television/movie actress, is appearing on Oprah Wednesday and will be revealing some supposed “shocking secrets” about her family.

MacKenzie talks about how her father was the first person to shoot her up with drugs and how Mick Jagger told her, “I’ve been waiting for this since you were 10 years old,” before bedding her. We’ve heard these stories before, but apparently MacKenzie does have a secret she will be revealing on the Oprah Winfrey Show that we’ve never heard.
She’s probably going to say that her dad sexually abused her. I don’t know this for sure, just a hunch. If this is the case, I wonder how her siblings will respond.
I never know how much to believe of what MacKenzie says. I still don’t think she is 100% sober. I could be wrong, but if you recall it hasn’t even been a year since she was busted for attempting to smuggle cocaine and heroin in plastic baggies and balloons onto a flight. You can never trust a junkie. It makes me wonder what her motive is for appearing on Oprah’s show.
Whitney Houston’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, Part 2.
A great interview with Whitney. She is so open about it all, you rarely hear celebrities with such caliber admit to such drug use, marriage problems, or anything this personal.
Whitney’s voice does sound shot. There was some speculation after she was on Good Morning America last week that maybe her voice was ruined after all she has gone through. I hope she has a great comeback though, I am pulling for her.
Whitney Houston spoke candidly with Oprah Winfrey during an interview with the talk show queen.
She went into detail about the abuse she endured while married to Brown. She claims he was very emotionally abusive. She claims that in one instance he actually spit on her, and that provoked her to hit him over the head with a phone, drawing blood. She says their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was coming down the stairs at the time and saw everything.
She admits that she loved her husband, even going on to say that they had a lot of sex (ew, nice visual) and that loving him was her real addiction.
Whitney admitted that her life took a turn for the worse after her starring role in the film, The Bodyguard. That’s when, she says, she really started abusing drugs. Although she used cocaine and pot before the film it wasn’t all the time. But once her film, The Preacher’s Wife came out, she was drugging daily. She never admitted to smoking crack, but did say she was free-basing.
She credits her mother, Cissy Houston, with saving her. She says her mother showed up at her doorstep with a court junction telling her it was either rehab or giving up her dream.
“One day my mother came to my house. She walks in with these sheriffs and she says, ‘I have a court junction [sic] here. Either you’re gonna do it my way or we’re just not gonna do this at all. We’re both gonna go on TV and you’re gonna retire. This is not worth it.’”
She adds that Bobby was home at the time but momma Cissy wasn’t having any of him.
“She said, ‘If you move, Bobby, they’re gonna take you down. Don’t you make one move.’ He stood there like he was scared. She said, ‘I’m not losing you to the world, I’m not losing you to Satan, I’m not doing this. I want my daughter back.’”

21,000 fans danced in sync to the Black Eyed Peas “I Got a Feeling” during a performance at Oprah’s Oprahpalooza which was taped Tuesday.
It all starts with one woman dancing in the front row and eventually spreads throughout the crowd until everyone is doing the same, synchronized dance. Oprah had no prior knowledge that the crowd were all clued into what was about to happen.
In case you aren’t familiar with a flash-mob, they are a large group who meets in advance to work together to create a dance on a grand scale, at whatever chosen event.
The producer, Australian Michael Gracey, was also responsible for a famous flash mob dance at a Liverpool train station that was used for a phone commercial, but Tuesday’s event was much larger in scale.
And in order to pull it off, late last month local casting agencies were enlisted to look for dancers.
Dancers of all ages participated. Those who didn’t know the dance were taught by others who did.
This is a great blind item about a sex tape that never saw the light of day…luckily for those who starred in it.
My guess is totally Oprah on this one! Maybe Tyra Banks or Beyonce, but I really don’t think either of them would be quite as huge as an Oprah sex tape. No way.
Sex images of Rihanna and Cassie were recently leaked last weekend. The difference between them and another black female celebrity (will not reveal which field) is money.
This particular black female celebrity and her significant other had checked into a luxurious hotel suite. Unbeknownst to them, a low level hotel employee got access to their information, including which suite they would be staying in. Before they arrived, he rigged up a video recorder inside a vent; located in the master suite. After they checked out, he retrieved the camera and tape.
He had good identifiable footage of them having sex (freaky, deviate). He got in contact with an online “sex tape broker,” they negotiated a price and a document was faxed stating, that the seller could not release duplicates of the tape ever, the seller signed the agreement. Money was wired and the broker received the tape.
The broker contacted someone in the industry who knew the couple and told them, get word to the couple I’ve purchase a sex tape (of them), if they want it off the market (internet), they will have to honor my price.
The couple paid a fixer $1 million dollars to act as an rep. Not only was the tape purchased (for reportedly $1.5 million dollars) and returned to the couple, the hotel employee was tracked down. When he was threatened with police action, he turned over additional copies he had in a nearby safe. Despite signing that agreement, he still kept copies to show friends.
Next, the fixer got a list of his friends, when he was assured they didn’t have copies, he closed the case.
To this day, that tape has never resurfaced and no copies are known to be existence.
If that tape would have ever been released to the public, it would have been the biggest sex tape scandal in history. That’s why the broker was able to negotiate top dollar! Outside of Paris Hilton’s sex tape, this is the most expensive black sex tape.
Unfortunately, Rihanna and Cassie are new to the game, and don’t have the funds to afford a million dollar fixer to act on their behalf. If an A-list fixer would have been brought in, their sex images would have never seen the light of day.
Any other guesses??
If it WAS Oprah, we have to figure out next if the “significant other” was either Stedman or Gayle King!
Oprah recently adopted two golden cocker spaniel puppies from PAWS in Chicago and unfortunately one of them has died.
The puppies, named Ivan and Sadie, both had contracted the parvovirus, a deadly disease for canines.
Sadie is strong and seems to be improving, however, Ivan did not pull through.
Oprah released a statement saying that she will miss Ivan although she’d only had him one weekend. She added, “I remain hopeful that Sadie will pull through.”
Oprah’s BFF Gayle King is also pulling for Sadie. “Yeah. Sadie is sick, and we’re waiting, hoping that Sadie will be fine. Sadie’s in the hospital, and as you might expect, she is getting the best of care. I have my fingers, toes, eyes crossed – prayers, we’re all wishing Sadie the best.”
