No More Sarah Palin for Tina Fey

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Tina Fey says she is through playing Sarah Palin now that the election is over.

Fey’s Palin character helped Saturday Night Live’s ratings skyrocket this season with viewership up a whopping 70%. Ratings for Fey’s show, 30 Rock, also rose 20%.

She names her television show as the main reason she will not continue with the Palin impersonation. “I have to retire just because I have to do my day job.”

Her spot-on impression of Palin was so good that we can’t imagine anyone else even attempting it. But when asked who she would likely pass the torch to, she replied,

“I think [Kristen] Wiig would do a really good job. Maybe we could get a real torch. Or I could give Wiig the Palin wig.”

Obama’s Grandmother Dies One Day Before Election Day

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has reported to media that his grandmother passed away Monday.

Madelyn Payne Dunham, 84, was incredibly inspirational to Barack and helped raise him as a young boy. He credits her with making him who he is today.

Dunham had been ill for quite some time and had recently broken a hip.

Obama described his grandmother as a woman who “taught me values straight from the Kansas heartland…accountability and self-reliance. Love of country. Working hard without making excuses. Treating your neighbor as you’d like to be treated.”

When he accepted the Democratic presidential nomination at the party’s convention in Denver he also made sure to credit his loving grandmother saying,

“She’s the one who taught me about hard work. She’s the one who put off buying a new car or a new dress for herself so that I could have a better life. She poured everything she had into me,” he said.

Sarah Palin on SNL

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

If you’re one of the three people who missed SNL this weeked, here are the clips of Sarah Palin’s guest appearances on the show.

Saturday Night Live scored its highest ratings in 14 years, it’s highest since Nancy Kerrigan hosted the show in 1994.

I still cannot get over Tina Fey’s dead on impression of Palin. She not only looks a helluva lot like her, she’s nailed the accent!

Stephen Baldwin Challenges Obama to a Fight, Meanwhile, Canada Builds Wall

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Stephen Baldwin is not a fan of Barack Obama.

The lesser known, right-wing Baldwin brother says he will move to Canada if Barack Obama is elected as our next President.

In fact, he dislikes Obama so much that he has challenged the Presidential candidate to a fight. A charity boxing match of sorts.

“I’d like to knock some good sense into Barack. I wouldn’t hurt him. But if he wins the election, he’ll hurt me. He’s a cultural terrorist.”

C’mon, even if you aren’t voting Barack, you still kinda sorta have to hope he wins so Canada will have to put up with at least one of the Baldwin brothers!
