Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are close to settling down and having a child.

Star magazine says the couple will undergo fertility treatment in the not-so-distant future.

DeGeneres has recently said that once her contract expires in 2010 the women would like to move out of the spotlight and onto a rural farm.

De Rossi has also been quoted as saying she would like children sometime soon. “There are times when I think I’d be really selfish not to adopt a child. It’d be great to spend our lives with somebody, a little child that really needs a home.”

However, the couple have decided on using IVF to conceive a child of their own. Sources say they would really love to have a baby boy.

I don’t know what you guys think about Portia’s wedding dress, but I absolutely love it.

And I think Portia looked amazing in it.  I would be willing to bet that a lot of women out there will be wanting a similar style dress for their wedding after all the publicity this one got.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married Saturday in a small ceremony at their home.

Approximately 20 people attended the wedding, including the women’s mothers, Degeneres’ mom, Betty, and di Rossi’s mom, Margaret, who flew in from Australia for the big event.

Ellen, 50, and Portia, 35, have been together since December 2004 and have been planning the wedding for months.

Both women wore Zac Posen, with Portia in a Cinderella-like pink dress and Ellen in white pants, vest and button-up shirt.

Ellen described Portia last year saying,

“She’s taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I’ve taught her. We’ve both changed and grown, and we just feel like, ‘Oh, okay, this is completion.’”

Even back in 2005 she felt that she and Portia would be together forever.

“I never would have thought my life would have turned out this way. To have money. Or to have a gorgeous girlfriend. I just feel so lucky with everything in my life right now.”

That same year Portia told the Advocate,

“My feelings for Ellen overrode all of my fear about being out as a lesbian. That had never happened to me in my life, where I saw somebody and [experienced] all of those things you hear about in songs and read about in poetry. My knees were weak.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are engaged and have reportedly set a date to be married.

Ellen gave Portia a beautiful ring with pink diamonds. Ellen told reporters at Friday night’s 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, “Yes, we have set a wedding date. Portia has a ring. It’s a Neil Lane ring.”

Although she didn’t reveal the date she did hint that the guest list is getting long and that the planning was a little stressful. However, both women are thrilled and excited to become each other’s spouse.

Portia de Rossi might be a lesbian but that doesn’t mean she liked filming sex scenes with Joely Richardson.

Portia plays Joely’s lover in ‘Nip/Tuck’. Portia said,

“I hate gratuitous sex scenes. I’m a prude, I really am. I related to Joely’s character so much more than my own. She was having a really hard time with her sexuality, and it was difficult for her to tell people she was gay. To hear her struggle like that was very emotional for me.”

On the other hand, Joely said she thoroughly enjoyed the sex scenes with Portia. She added,

“I have no problems kissing women. It’s not the first time I have done lesbian scenes. I have heard Ellen was jealous. She has been on set. She is great and Portia is lovely. Please don’t think there is anything going on between us.”

Portia was worried about being type-cast as a lesbian if she took the Nip/Tuck role, but girlfriend Ellen told her not to worry about it.

“My relationship with Ellen is so public, and I thought, ‘Am I going to play a romantic lead again?’ I had that one moment of, ‘Does this mean I’ll be typecast as a lesbian?’ And Ellen turned to me and said, ‘So what?’ And I thought, ‘Oh, yeah, right, so what?’I was offered romantic lead roles, and I turned them down because the lesbian seemed more interesting to me. It’s so crazy because I never faced any kind of discrimination. Here, it’s all scripted, but it still stings. It was a very interesting thing for me to experience. I’d walk away at the end of the day not feeling very good.”

Are one of the most famous lesbian couple’s headed for splitsville? Say it isn’t so!

Star magazine is reporting that Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi are on the rocks. And Ellen’s breakdown over the puppy last week? It stemmed from her problems at home.

According to multiple sources, [Ellen’s] really in pain because her three-year romance with actress Portia de Rossi is all but over.  “Ellen would never have broken down like that on TV if things were right in her home life,” one source tells Star.

“Portia has been telling Ellen she’s very unhappy at home,” says a second source.  ”When it comes down to it, she wants to be with someone younger and hotter. She wants out, but Ellen has been begging her to stay. Portia is really everything in this world to her.”

I hope this rumor isn’t true. I love these two together. I’m betting their former girlfriend’s are quietly chuckling though.

After VH1’s Big in ‘04 awards show Ellen and Portia hooked up, quite steamily I might add, and both dumped their lovers the next day so they could be together.

I absolutely adore Ellen’s sense of humor and easy going personality and Portia, well, Portia is just fabulously hot. I mean even her name is hot!

Celebrity Babylon caught up with Ellen and Portia leaving a nail salon in West Hollywood. Ellen laughed and joked with the photographers and then the two ladies hopped into their white Porsche and rode off into the sunset.
