Rihanna is working alongside with H&M to launch a fashion line aimed at raising AIDS awareness among young adults.

The collection, called Fashion Against AIDS will include T-shirts, hoodies and tanks. The campaign targets 15 to 24-year olds and will launch in February.

Prices are expected to range from $12 to $34, and 25 percent of the sales will go to HIV/AIDS-prevention projects around the world.

Rihanna released a statement regarding the project, “Supporting YouthAIDS through the Fashion Against AIDS campaign was a great way to encourage my fans to join me in the fight against HIV/AIDS. I love that H&M is providing a fashionable and easy way for young people all over the world to get involved in this worthy cause.”

Other musicians involved include Good Charlotte, My Chemical Romance, Timbaland and Ziggy Marley.

Rihanna is telling media to leave Britney Spears alone. She says that Britney has a lot going on in her family life right now and hasn’t performed much the past few years.

Rihanna says,

“You can’t judge her performance without knowing what was going on with her personally. She had so much pressure for that one performance. I’m telling you, it’s not easy being on that stage. I performed for a minute and a half, and I was extremely nervous. To have the amount of pressure that Britney had? I don’t know what I would’ve done. She did her best, so leave her alone.”

Of course Rihanna is going to support Britney.  She hit the jackpot after Britney turned down ‘Umbrella’.  Heh.

In light of her whirlwind success, cleaning out the VMA’s last week alongside fellow hip hop artists Kanye West and Justin Timberlake, Rihanna (born Robyn Rihanna Fenty) is rolling in it, previously mentioning her weakness for splurging on “makeup and shoes.”

But has the hip hop princess forgotten about her father, Ronald Fenty?

Reports have surfaced claiming that the former beauty pageant winner has run clean of her poverty stricken father, whom after battling a cocaine addiction that has quote “actually really embarrassed” her, faces hard financial struggles in their native Barbados, forced to sell clothes from the back of his car in an attempt to provide for himself and his family.

The Enquirer:

While Ronald reportedly has beaten his drug problem, he’s still clearly struggling with poverty. “Ronald is trying to make ends meet by selling clothes and perfumes and lotions out of his car,” said a friend of his in Barbados.

“It’s kind of sad that his daughter is raking in millions as a world famous singer while her dad is still hustling to make a buck.”

Unlike a string of fellow music artists emerging from poverty to international super-stardom such as Ciara, Chris Brown and Jay-Z, who have all taken care of their struggling families following their successes, it seems Rihanna has no interest in helping to provide for the family who, despite their own lack of finances, gave their all to support her.

Guess now that she’s famous and loaded… they can’t stand under her umbrella? Well, at least not while there is make-up and shoes to buy.
