MTV Video Music Awards Photo Shoot: Behind-The-Scenes With Performers And David LaChapelle

Rihanna_photo_shoot

You may recall the post I did recently about famed photographer David Lachapelle and his MTV VMA photo shoot with Rihanna.  David not only did a shoot with the princess of pop, he also did shoots with Foo Fighters, Fall Out Boy, Chris Brown and Kanye West.

See the behind the scenes videos here:

Foo Fighters explains the crazy experience with David and how things will have to STAY in Vegas for the VMAs

Fall Out Boy gives a little insight on their past Vegas experience and what may come with Lil Wayne in their suite

Britney Could Have Recorded ‘Umbrella’

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Britney Spears could have been the one to record Rihanna’s number one hit, ‘Umbrella’, but she turned it down.

Producer Tricky Stewart created the track with hopes that Spears would be the one to record the song.  (Was he high?!)  British singer/songwriter Taio Cruz says Tricky told him of his plans.

Cruz says,

“I was working with Tricky in his studio the day he finished Umbrella. As soon as I heard it I said, ‘That is a smash, I have to have it,’ but he told me it was on hold for Britney. He waited but Britney’s people never called him back.”

Sounds a lot like what happened with the Justin Timberlake duet that never happened. It seems Britney is just doomed to fail. And unfortunately it’s mostly been of her own doing.

Shia LaBeouf is a P.I.M.P

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

We all know him from Transformers, maybe some of you even know him from Even Stevens. Hell, maybe some of you even know him from The Greatest Game Ever Played. Yeah, maybe not the last two. But the fact is, 21-year old actor Shia LaBeouf is big pimpin’ his way around Hollywood, snaggin’ girls here there and everywhere.

Shia LaBeouf

First it was Larry Brezner’s daughter, whom Shia says was “his best friend and his love,” then it was reported he was romancing actress Eliska Amor, who supposedly fell for him after a fleeting meeting behind the scenes of TRL following LaBeouf’s pick-up line (believed to be: “You must be a model, right? You’re so beautiful.”)

Well, now it’s apparantly r’n'b songstress Rihanna!? PerezHilton.com is reporting that a candid snap-shot taken sometime last week of LaBeouf and Rihanna with others has led to more, reporting that LaBeouf is now also romancing the singer.

Shia La-Bee, you P-I-M-P!

David LaChapelle’s Rihanna Photo Shoot for the VMA’s

David LaChapelle is my favorite photographer. His extraordinary creativity and imagination always amaze me. He is to photography what Alice in Wonderland is to cartoons.

His latest work is with the VMA’s. He shot Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, Kanye West, the Foo Fighters and Chris Brown for the upcoming MTV video music awards show.

The photographs hit street on Monday, August 20th. For one night only, the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards are set to air on Sept 9th at 9pm (Live ET/Tape delay PT).

Check out some of David’s other works of art. Truly fascinating!

Rihanna’s Umbrella is a Dirty Little Ditty

The Dream is saying that ‘Umbrella’ is a total metaphor for something a little dirtier than you might think.

Well duh! I always thought it was about golden showers myself. Isn’t that the first thing you thought of? Maybe I’m just a sick bastard. Heh.

Anyhow, The Dream says he wrote the song in twelve minutes.

“That’s right, (Umbrella took) 12 of them nice lil’ minutes. I’ve gotten to the point where songwriting is like freestyling - you enter the booth and let it come out. I’ll use certain things for metaphors, like ‘Umbrella’.. Once I get the thing I’m attaching the song with, then I’m running all the other tricks through the song to create that element.”
