Sandra Bernhard Sings

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Sandra Bernhard is coming out with a new album on the 25th. It’s titled, Whatever it Takes.

Sandra is a busy girl these days, she’s promoting her album, touring and working on a television project.

I’ve never heard Sandra sing, but I know what a nail on a chalkboard her voice is! So I just HAD to YouTube it. Let’s just say her singing is worse than I thought it would be. I’m not trying to hate on her, she’s a little goofy and I know she’s vulgar, but I like to watch her because she is so anti-mainstream. Still, that doesn’t help her voice.

The video above is a clip of Sandra singing a cover Courtney Love’s band Hole’s song, “Violet”. Sandra poses like Mick Jagger onstage. She sings like your grandma in the beginning then swaps over to angsty teen at the end.

Watch the video, if you dare. It might just stick in your head and that wouldn’t be a good thing. Funny, but not a good thing.

Vanity Fair’s Tribute to the Women of Comedy

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Vanity Fair spotlights funny women in it’s upcoming April issue. Tina Fey, Sarah Silverman and Amy Poehler adorn the cover as the Queens of Comedy.

Sarah does her best Amy Winehouse, which I thought was perfect because I have mentioned in the past how much they look alike. Jenna Fischer is Lindsay Lohan (center) and Wanda Sykes channels Lil Kim. Chelsea Handler (second from left) and Sandra Bernhard (left) are also spotlighted.

Sandra Bernhard Has No Love for Paula or Paris

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

sandra09348.jpg

Sandra Bernhard is no fan of either Paula Abdul or Paris Hilton.

The gruff comedienne blasted the attention whores for making asses of themselves merely for media attention.

She says,

“You have to be like Paula Abdul and fall all over yourself and pretend you’re strung out on something and behave like a freak. I’ve got too much dignity. I mean, how much fame do your really need? I mean when Paris Hilton and all these sorts of people can be famous now? I don’t think it’s necessary.”
