This shizzle is going waaay back! But for those who remember, you’ll get a kick out of it.

Pure 70s pop culture delight..

‘The Two Coreys’ is Back for a Second Season

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

A&E has decided to run another season of “The Two Coreys”, the reality show featuring 80s teen idol’s Corey Haim and Corey Feldman.

Last season ended with the two friends fighting, and producers says they haven’t seen each other since the argument. The new season would start where the last one ended.

Robert Sharenow
, Senior VP Nonfiction and Alternative Programming at A&E says, “The first season of the show exposed some deep-seated issues between the Coreys, which really only started coming to the surface in the final episodes. This season promises more drama, tension and laughs as they struggle to make their relationship and careers work.”

The premiere is tentatively set for Spring ‘08.

Dr. Phil Axes Britney Intervention Show

Monday, January 7th, 2008

drphileye.gif

Due to public outrage over the well publicized Britney Spears intervention show, Dr. Phil has canceled the program which was scheduled to air Tuesday.

Dr. Phil made the following statement on his web site:

“As was widely reported this weekend, at the request of concerned family members, I visited Britney Spears in the hospital. The details of that visit will, of course, remain private. We had planned to tape a Dr. Phil Now show today, focusing not on the tabloid side of Britney’s latest problems, but instead on the very serious issues surrounding this case.”

Clearly, it is not just Britney’s family struggling to find a way to protect adult children who cannot be ordered or compelled to seek help. Because the Spears situation is too intense at this time, and out of consideration to the family, I have made the decision not to move forward with the taping at this particular time. Britney and her family are in our prayers, and we ask that they be in yours.”

‘Out of consideration to the family..’ - my ass.

I’m glad that it’s been canceled. I thought the show was a ridiculous plan that would do absolutely no good to Britney and her family. A behind closed doors meeting would prove to be much more productive than publicly discussing such a private issue. Don’t you think? I mean, one of Britney’s major problems is just that. The media, publicity, attention. Dr. Phil should know that. And so should her family.

UPDATE:

The reason the show really may have been canceled is that Jamie Spears, Brit’s dad, came to his senses and realized  it wasn’t such a good idea after all.  Thank goodness someone in the family has a brain.  (TMZ)
