Maia Campbell Crack Video Surfaces
Wow. Maia Campbell was videotaped by some guys who were clearly amused by her cracked out behavior.
This video actually disturbed me! Maia is obviously cracked out of her head, sitting in a car, rambling on for over 6 minutes as a couple of men stick a video camera in front of her face, laughing at her, egging her on.
You probably don’t remember Maia, but she’s a 32 year-old actress who played the role of Tiffany Warren in the sitcom In the House. She also played Nicole on FOX’s series South Central, and she was Tupac Shakur’s cousin [updated] in the film Poetic Justice. Most currently she had a role in the film, Sorority Sister Slaughter, in 2007.
I can’t help but think it is so sad to see someone, anyone, in this condition. Especially someone who had so much going for them. I know people are going to be totally making fun of this on the web, but I don’t know, I felt dirty just watching it. Such hopelessness. I’m already terrified of dying young, man, I don’t like looking death in the eye. And when I’m looking at someone in that state of mind, I can’t help but see death.
Let’s hope Maia gets the help she seriously needs. Maybe this video being released will help with that somehow.

She’s pretty lucid for crack, at least what I’ve seen but she’s pissed at the person who is filming and who is egging her on. It’s interesting when you see how blacks talk to each other, I don’t mean that in a racist way but it is definitely different when they are around white people or other races of people.
I agree it’s a peculiar video.
Not all black people talk that way, so keep that in mind. I’m a black woman, and I don’t talk that way, because I don’t have to and don’t need to, in order to get a point across. So don’t put everyone who is black in the same category. This is not a race issue, it’s obvious she needs help, and hopefully someone will reach out to her and give her the help that she needs.
In regards to the post above, of course it would be interesting for you to hear “how black people talk to each other…” it’s like a secret code, or handshake that you will never understand because you are not a part of that club. In regards to Maia Campbell, she is diagnosed schizophrenic which is exacerbated by the death of her mother and incessant meth use. In addition, she DID NOT play Tupac’s girlfriend in Poetic Justice. Janet Jackson did. Maia played a very small role of his cousin.

I guess she’s been on a downward spiral, there are people saying this is all fake and staged, I highly doubt it, b/c as talented as she was, she wasn’t that good of an actress. The few seconds she actually looks at the camera ( for the most part she was not making eyes contact, proof that she was probably experiencing some sort of visual hallucinations while talking to the man filming) you can see the completely crazed look in her eye, the same look I’ve seen countless times when I worked with people suffering from mental illness.
Again I am white I have friends of every race but I’ve been to areas of town where this is not uncommon to witness something like this on the street and by no means did I mean any other than my observations which are anecdotal at best – so please don’t be offended its the last thing in the world I would do.
However I was reading at defamer and you scooped them Spicy, but sadly this is what has happened to this poor woman in the few years or so.
As for her criminal record, the site Martini and Scotch — ha! — gives the shocking rundown:
In April 2001 she was charged for driving without a license and damaging property.
In August 2001 she was charged for driving with a suspended license and reckless driving.
In December 2004 she was charged AGAIN for driving with a suspended license and marijuana was found in the vehicle.
In August 2006 she was charged for driving without the vehicle owners consent and driving with suspended license.
In December 2008 she was charged for burglary; purchasing known stolen property.
In April 2009 she was charge for petty theft.
In August 2009 she was charged with Prositution [sic].
Meanwhile, earlier this year some fans saw her sleeping on a beach and smoking meth. They say she smelled like a bum. We would laugh and point fingers, but, c’mon, this is just sad
I feel just awful about this, I hate meth, I hate that people smoke coke – it ruins your mental health, I just hope she can come back but I fear she is a lost soul now… If she’s dead it’s heart breaking.
Meth and smoking it can and does cause schizophrenia in people with no family history of the mental illness doctors don’t know why or how it happens but it’s becoming a huge mental health issue all over the country. Very sad.
Im really sad for her,but I would like to say,not all black people are like this! ive seen cracked out hispanics,whites and asians all act the same..Not a race thing,its a drug thing assholes
Its a very sad to see a person throw their life away like that. But for every person there is a story behind it. And no its not a black thing. I have been around this all my life and it comes in all colors. But the side part is, it was a black person that video taped it, instead of trying to help her he laughs at her. And then when another race says something bad we wont to get confrontational. But why????. Be mad at the bastards that taped it and then laughed about the whole situation!!!
I’m shocked and sad for maia to fall so down I hope some of the black celebrities in hollywood offer help to her cause If she doesn’t get help she might overdose or get killed she’s around really bad people so that’s not far fetched
First of all, Maia has suffered with mental illness for her entire life (even when she appeared healthy on TV), so drug use was not the cause. Secondly, please familiarize yourself with the side effects of medications to treat mental illness; many times the side effects are worse than the disease itself, which is why many suffering refuse medication.
Jinxy McD-I find it interesting and disheartening that you spent time researching and detailing her criminal history, but NONE researching the history (published and documented) of her battle with mental illness. Hmmmm…
Mental illness is a very vicious disease with a vicious cycle that has claimed some of the strongest persons and families.
Thankfully I read on Black Web 2.0 that Maia is in treatment! Thank God. I’ve been praying for her since this sadness hit the net. I couldn’t watch more than the first few seconds of that video and I had to turn it off. It was like watching a defenseless baby being attacked by wolves.
Many people suffer from mental illness and it is no laughing matter. To all the people that made snide remarks about her in any way remember it may be you or your family some day and you’ll want people to be supportive and understanding to your family. Please remember that.
My Mother had mental illness and it took me two plus years to convince her to go see a Doctor and get medication. She would always say “I’m not crazy”! so many people are ashamed of being labeled crazy and they self medicate.
I continue to pray for the beautiful Maias of the world that they will be helped and treated with kindness and respect.

Was totally shocked when watching old comedies on YT to hear this beautiful woman suffers from Bipolar and has been exposed to drugs.Hopefully she will recover soon.

I think everyone should be easy on Jinxy McD … afterall, just like being an addict or someone suffering from mental illness, closet racists are usually the last to know that they are. Maybe, Jimmy you should research what mentality is behind racism, is it ideology? Pershaps, it is an upbringing laced with ridicule & belittling of one race while applauding & elevating another. With that in mind, one could simply not blame someone in your case. However, I would strongly suggest you delve into it as deeply as you did Maia’s criminal history… You owe it to yourself! And yes, I know, some of your best friends are black. Lol!
