Gwen Stefani Tells Elle: “I’m VAIN!”

Gwen Stefani on the cover of ELLE

Gwen Stefani, one of music’s most stunning and talented women, tells Elle magazine quite bluntly, “I’m vain.”

I don’t think Gwen meant it in a snobby way, she just takes pride in how she looks, in an artistic sort of way. She told Elle: “I mean, I’m very vain. That would be my middle name. Of course I am, you know what I mean? I love the visual.”

Gwen, the new covergirl for L’Oreal, loves her makeup, trying off-the-wall things with her hair, and has always been a fashion icon. She’s a girly girl but also wants to be known as ‘one of the guys.’ When told young female singers like Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have been inspired by her she disagrees. “Really? I don’t see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on. I see these girls as more going for the sex-symbol thing. I was more, in the band, like a tomboy. Of course, I think every girl is sexy, so there’s going to be a little of that. But I see a lot of younger artists going more toward the sexy thing.”

Love Gwen, but saying Gaga is in it for the sex symbol thing? Not sure about that. She is in it more for ‘being the weirdo’ than for the sexy thing in my opinion. Like them both, and since there is space for all different types, just let it be.
